I was disapponted with these. I ordered the 45 and 9MM both and the problem is they don't work if they get absolutely any oil or lubricant on them. You put them in a gun and they work fine maybe once, then the O-rings get contaminated with oil and the next gun they fire once and move forward out of the firing pin range.Yes, you can clean them and your gun and get them to work, but it's kind of a pain. You have to get your chamber devoid of lubricant. That said, if you're willing to do that I think they have value in home defense training. When I get time I'm going to experiment with larger O-rings to see it that solves the problem.

Great price, fits like a .45ACP cartridge; easy to do function checks and drills with the laser in place (tap & rack, mag swaps). Unlike previous version, you can leave the batteries in when not in use and they don't drain. Won't interfere with the extractor when retracting or releasing the slide. The "primer" is easily replaced when worn (about $10) and is good (so far) for hundreds of dry-fires. Only negative is you have to push it out from the muzzle end with a pencil or dowel (which seems sort of inelegant). Just wish they made one for .45LC!Update: Sadly, had to revise my rating after continued use. Great concept and design, but as others noted, this device loses its center after some use (a few hundred rounds in my case), and changing the primer seems to alter the POI as well. You can fiddle with the insertion rotation, but it's really an approximation of the actual bore axis, and difficult to align again. Good for close-up drills, but not really an accurate representation of firing your gun. If you're sighting in your rail laser, get a bore sight. The LTS Pro (which fits in the muzzle and is adjustable for multiple calibers) is easier to adjust to your sights by rotating, and warts and all is probably a better trainer LaserLyte Pistol Laser Trainer (9, 40, 45-Caliber).

Ive had the lt-45 for about 2 weeks and have practiced with it everyday in my sig 220. Im likely well over 1000 shots fired at this point. It has really improved my draw, fire precision, and speed. Im also working on firing on the move. All inside and I dont even have to clean my weapon afterward.
In my view it has already paid for its self by significantly improving in my shooting performance. I have not had any issue with the laser firing. I highly recomend this.
