I ordered this kit for a Christmas gift. We used the laser in the blue gun and it worked great. Next morning, the batteries were dead. Put the (provided) 2nd set of batteries in the laser, worked great! Next morning--dead. Hubby thought it may of been the provided batteries, went out and purchased new ones, worked great! Next day--dead.

Today, I spoke with customer service and the rep was very nice as she explained that the pistol in the kit does not have an on/off switch and the batteries must be either removed or the "insulator" must be placed inside the laser to prevent the batteries from draining. This must be done between uses, every time.

After reviewing the instructions, I still do not see where this is stated. If it is, it is vague enough that I have not found it yet. Not sure if I will keep this kit. It is less money to purchase as a set, but it may not save money if the batteries need replacing much sooner than the more expensive options.

It is a great way to practice trigger control and sight picture but beware of the battery drain.

This is a very good product sent by a very good vendor--just not for me.

The trigger on the pistol irritated my trigger finger every time I squeezed it.

If you want such a training device, I would recommend a laser insert for your own pistol and the Laserlyte target device purchased separately.

This would be a 5 star rating except for the fact that you need to take the laser apart to keep the battery from discharging. The trigger does simulate a double action trigger pretty realistically, maybe a bit more friction but not huge amounts. It definitely helps develop a smooth trigger pool. The target is smaller than I thought it would be but still does the job nicely.

Another fantastic training aid. It really saves on buying bullets. I use it around the house all the time, Practice my draw, sighting, and more. I use the Laser not only in the supplied blue gun, but in my CCW weapon, and in my 1911(.45) and XDM 5.25 (9mm)competition guns. Can't wait to get the 3 can targets that you can get for it. They have a plunger in the bottom, that when hit with the laser, pushes down and knocks the can over.

EXCELLENT! I knew there'd be a training pistol and target but I didn't realize that the training pistol had a laser insert (as opposed to a built in laser) and you can use that insert in your regular firearms. The target is smaller than I thought but still no problem out to the 10 yards or so that I've tested so far. I will need to put a white dot on the front sight. Great fun and great practice.

The laser that comes with this kit is junk. Junk, junk, junk. Expensive batteries get drained in a day. The other laser they sell that fits specific calibers will not drain the battery like this one and works better. This laser is a poor design. They should NOT be selling this as is. The gun and target is fine but the laser is junk. Did I mention that the laser was junk?

Great training tool. Saves on ammo and is fun. The laser can be used in your firearm for more realistic training from a holdster. Always make sure your firearm is unloaded.

It took me a while to figurine out the quirks. The laser trainer has to be very tight against the barrel of the training pistol to be able to pick up the sound of the hammer. After the first hundred simulated shots, the trigger of the training pistol would not reset. I called customer service and they gave me a rma number but I would have to pay for shipping. I was not going through the trouble and expense for a $35 item. I took it apart myself and cleaned the action and it worked. There was a contaminant on the action. Since then it has work flawlessly for 2 months now.

It has been nice being able to practice drills of drawing and shooting, walking and shooting, shooting one handed without using a lot of ammo and you can't do most of these drills at the range. Next on the list will be practicing clearing rooms by having a friend hide the practice targets in a another room.
