I had bought a Hunter table fan, only to be completely disappointed to find that not only was it made in China, but it was difficult to disassemble for cleaning, and the blades won't start to spin unless switched to HIGH (and even then it sometimes needs a push or several to start turning). So, I set out on a quest to find a fan that is made in the US, easy to disassemble, and works properly. I stumbled across reviews on the 'net which indicated that not only are Lasko fans still made in the US, but this particular fan is easy to disassemble. So I ordered two from Amazon. They arrived in a matter of 3 business days. I am SO pleased with the fan! I put the first one together in about 1 minute, didn't even need the instructions (the other I'll just keep in the box until needed). The head doesn't tilt downward very much, I'd say only 5 or 10 degrees, but it tilts upward quite a bit farther than other fans I've owned, I'd guess somewhere between 30 to 40 degrees from level. It's very quiet other than the inevitable white noise of the fan blades pushing the air. I run my fan in the bedroom at night for the white noise and the air circulation, so it's probably on a *minimum* of 12 hours a day. I don't have any idea how long this fan will hold up to that kind of use. But I am so pleased to have something made in the US and fits all of the other criteria that I set out to find!!! Pros:

Cons:

o Fan blades aren't exactly balanced; fan head
jiggles slightly but no noises are created

I realize the "con" I mention is a little picky, it's really the only thing I noticed about the fan that wasn't pretty much perfect.

Now if it will only last for 25 years like the Sanyo desk fan I used to own... if it does, I'll probably be dead and the second fan will be brand new in a box on the shelves downstairs, so my family will inherit a brand new "old" fan LOL.

The quietness of my 10-year-old fan prompted my friend to ask me order her one. All the parts disassemble easily for total cleaning. A real workhorse; I leave it running 24/7 in summer.

This fan was reported to be very quiet and reliable, but after I put it together (not a hard task at all), it was considerably noisier than I had hoped. It was about as noisy as other small table fans I've bought. Not terrible, but certainly not the soft hush I had hoped for. The biggest problem was that the fan only worked on two of the three motor speeds!!! Although it created a strong breeze, the lack of quiet and the defective speeds don't make it a great bargain.

This fan works well and produces a decent amount of air for my kids bedroom- although that is with it sitting about 2 feet away from them and oscillating. The only minor issue is that the fan is made of all plastic and doesn't seem to be able to tolerate too much abuse (dropping on the floor, etc)- which my kids sometimes do to things. Overall, pretty happy.

This fan is all plastic and cheap. It makes a humming sound as it operates. There are 3 settings and I usually keep it on the lowest because of the sound and the lowest setting is pretty strong. It is very easy to put together and took about 5 minutes. I wonder how long it will last since the quality does not seem great.

I bought this fan a year ago thanks to the great review by dontwannabeageek, who had the same basic criteria I did.

I wanted a fan primarily to use when I'm on the elliptical machine Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer, and also for use in the living room enabling me to use the A/C less frequently.

Pros: It's super quiet, even on high (and I'm pretty sensitive to noise), moves enough air to keep me cool when exercising, it's easy to clean because the grille is removable, AND it's made in America. Yay! The neutral color makes it unobtrusive, and blends in with any decor. It's also light weight, so it's easy to move around, yet very sturdy. It oscillates and tilts up and down. It's exactly what I was looking for and has every feature I wanted.

Assembly Tips: The round part that screws down over the fan blades to lock them in is tightened counter-clockwise, which is backward from the usual way. Tighten till just snug, don't over tighten. Also, when attaching the grille, it helps to have a flat head/slot type screwdriver to push the tabs in, and also for removing the grille for cleaning.

Note: The year before I had purchased the Honeywell HT800 Super Turbo High Performance Fan, Black in white, and it was so noisy I couldn't stand it. I wish I had found the Lasko fan then!

Bottom Line: I love the fan so much, I bought a second one for the bedroom a few weeks later.

P.S. Usage Tip: I also got this remote switch Super Switch Wireless Remote so I could set the fan across the room, and be able to turn it on and off from the bed. Not out of laziness, but if halfway through the night you feel cold/hot, you don't have to rouse yourself out of bed, or disturb your partner. It would also be good for someone with mobility problems.

UPDATE 7/30/11 I have had these fans for 2 years now, and am just as happy with them now as when I wrote the original review. I have three of them now, one for the bedroom, one for the living room and one for the elliptical/exercising. LOVE! <3

I purchased this fan to replace a fifteen year old Panasonic fan with failing bearings. The Lasko fan vibrates and is noisy. The fan actually bounces on the wire shelf it sits on. The molded fan blade appears to be of poor quality. I would not buy another fan like this one. I am now replacing the bearings on the old fan instead.

Like the title says, I got it quickly and it works perfectly. It was so easy to put together, I didn't need instructions.

We needed a new fan to circulate the air in our bedroom after the air conditioning is turned up for the night. We could have purchased any number of fans at the local big box stores, but, we went looking specifically for an American product. We have not been disappointed the fan is well made and has an exceptionally strong motor. MADE IN AMERICA, let's all help our country in any small way we can.

Nice fan. Pretty quiet and very effective. Assembly was very easy. My only complaint is that the knob on the top came broken, so it is stuck in oscillation mode (unless I take off the knob cover and use pliers to force it up, which keeps it stationary). If that wasn't broken upon arrival, I would have given this product five stars.
