Got this fan to replace a beat up one I'd had for 10 years. I have two needs for a fan, 1) good air circulation through my bedroom and 2) loud enough to act as white noise so I can sleep without all the stuff going on around my place not keeping me up. This fan works ok on both accounts. It blows like a beast but that is to be expected for an 18 inch fan. It is very loud also but not so loud as to be obnoxious.

My only complaint is with the front grill. They manufactured the grill in such a way that it makes a whispering hissing sound on the two highest settings. This can be a bit distracting but I am getting used to it.

A warning also. The grill was bent up a good bit in the box when it arrived. This initially worried me since it's one of the things I'm replacing the old one for. However, I've had the fan running at night for about a week now and the plastic appears to have adjusted back to normal, or at least very close to it.

We sleep with this fan on at night. It is pretty noisy, even at the lowest setting. I think the rotor may not be very well balanced (defective product?) But my husband likes white noise while he's sleeping, so he loves it. I sleep with earplugs, so the noise does not bother me.

The fan is pretty powerful, even at the lowest setting.

The stand is quite large, which makes it very stable and unlikely to tip over. A good thing, since we have a 14-month-old baby.

I was a little surprised that the grill was plastic. I guess I've only had fans with a metal grill.

I am living in temporary housing across the country for a few months and it was getting hot at night, so I decided to buy the cheapest fan I could. I purchased this item and haven't regretted it even a bit. At $25, this is a steal seeing as how powerful it is. I usually keep it on low just because high (and sometimes medium) is just too much. I have used fans all my life (need the white noise / cool breeze to sleep) and this fan does everything as advertised beyond expectations. I was originally going to throw it out when I left, but it's such a good fan I am actually considering shipping it back to my house (assuming, of course, shipping is cheaper than buying a new one, which it very well may not be!). Definitely a great purchase. Some may say the plastic feels cheap, but I disagree. It makes the fan easier to move around since it's lighter, and doesn't impact its performance at all.

We got this fan for the summer and it does a wonderful job. The main features i like about it are -

1. Its completely light weight and easy to move around.

2. Runs real fast and gives cool air in this raring summer heat.

This fan was simple enough to put together and works fine, but it's rather loud. I also wish it had a slower setting than the slowest setting it has...we rarely turn it above the first level. We had to get a different fan for sleeping because this one is too loud and too strong for us. But for a daytime fan it's fine. The oscillate button is a little hard to pull because it doesn't have a grip or a knob on it. The base of the fan also seems really large for some reason.

This fan is perfect and we use it all the time. It was easy to set up in a very short time.

This fan is exactly what we were looking for. We use it in front of our pellet stove to push the hot air around the house. It is so strong we only run it on low.

I have been using my Lasko 1824 Fan for two summers now. It has withstood some heavy, almost nonstop usage in high temperatures and works as well today as the day I first turned it on. I see no reason why it won't work next year as well.

Assembly is pretty easy and shouldn't present much of a problem for most. I am BAD at putting things together and had this fan going within 20 minutes. The base is a bit clunky looking, but it is 100% stable. This fan isn't overly loud using the Low or Medium speeds. I do not use the High speed, never needed it. The oscillation works fine, although again I have it pointed where I want it and leave it that way.

It is fully adjustable, both the height and the angle of the blade portion. I have adjusted it many times and it always holds position until I change it. Overall, a very good fan and as I said, it runs almost non stop during the 3 or 4 months of high heat here in Southern California. Recommended!

I bought this to compliment a ceiling fan and floor fan in my large bedroom suite. I needed to push more air and thought I would try this stand fan. It is made well for the price. It works great! I have perfect hearing and can attest the low fan speed is NOT all that loud compared to ANY of my other fans. I live in the high desert and it is HOT up here. This thing was well worth the price and I would not hestiate to recommend it. Assembly was not too difficult and I had it up and running within about 15 minutes or so. I have used it for 3 months now almost around the clock and it works perfectly so far.

Good basic PEDESTAL FAN. Use it to cover noise in bedroom, very adequate for our needs.
