I had an old floor fan and the motor finally died. I hadn't really paid much attention to the new generation of fans like this one. I saw some online reviews and decided that this would not only look better but would hopefully work better too.

I wasnt disappointed. It takes just a few minutes and a phillips or regular screwdriver to do the job. It comes with a remote that does everything the buttons on the unit does. The remote is certainly nice to have. It would be particularly useful for anyone with physical limitations. It is very quiet and is very powerful. I would definitely recommed it.

i have used this fan since 2004 and no problems. I like the remote and the power. Can't say the ionizer is much of anything but it's nice to have it. My girlfriend keep complaining that she's to cold with the fan so I guess it works.

this fan have good output but also have odor that you can really smell across the room. Not sure if its the motor when it gets warm or the ionizer is broken. same smell even when ionizer is off.

I bought this item two different times because when you turn the ionizer on, it gives off blue sparks from the inside. The first one we thought was maybe a defect and since we liked the way the fan part of it worked, we decided to buy another one. Lo and behold, we had the exact same problem. After about two weeks of usage, when you turn on the ionizer function, it gave off blue sparks from the inside. The first time it happened, we figured it was a glitch, but with it happening again on the second one, we are not using this product anymore.

Now What ........... How do I get my $$$ Back - or at least one that WORKS!!!! Amazon HELP me PLEASE!!

I bought this tower fan because my bedroom stays warmer than the rest of the house and I cannot sleep. It was easy to put together and it works great! I love the "Ion" feature and the variety of speeds and rotation. It really made a difference in my electric bill.

I bought this a few months ago and it was very helpful in getting us through the hot summer (nighttime use only), but a few days ago it started cutting out whenever I tried to set it to oscillate. Yesterday it stopped working altogether. It will no longer turn on. It is completely dead, and there is no help for it. My $50 investment will be on the trash heap tomorrow. I would not buy this or any fan from Lasko again. I've heard of "built-in obsolescence," but completely failing after only a few months is ridiculous and unacceptable!!!

I bought the Lasko 40" Executive Tower Fan because it had all of the requirements I was looking for. I was concerned about one of the reviews stating that the ionizer did not work after a short time & after returning the original one, that the replacement fan also had a problem with it.

I have used mine every day for the past month & am totally satisfied with it. I love the remote control that I keep on my bedside table. It has three fan settings & oscillates. I think it is a good, sturdy product. Nothing fancy, just basic. If you bought a fancier model, it would cost much more. I feel this is a very good quality product.

This is by far the quietest fan ever purchased! It works very well in all aspects, and we have not had trouble with sparking in the ionization mode, as other reviewers have seen. Would definitely buy again!

This was our second Lasko tower fan. The first one was a bigger one that lasted over 5 years until it started making an unbearably loud noise and my husband threw it away. I bought this smaller one only a year ago and yesterday it stopped working. It continued to oscillate, but gave out no air. To the trash it went after only 12 months. Lasko tower fans are very good looking and I love the remote but nothing will make me buy another Lasko for as long as I live.
