pedestal fan,

This review is from: Lasko 52" Oscillating Pedestal Fan (Kitchen)
I bought this fan from Amazon and it is great! Easy to put up, incredibly quiet and very good airflow. I have heat issues and have always slept with a fan blowing on me, even in winter. The regular desk top fan that I have had for years finally wore out and I didn't have a handy surface to place it on anyway. This stands on its own, can be adjusted for height so I can put it anywhere near. On top of that it pushes so much air I have it on Low in order not to get too cold! And then the handy remote means I can adjust the fan speed if the temperature changes, without getting up or use one of the other function buttons.

I purchased the last one of these in stock at a local hardware store and was very impressed with the amount of air it passes as well as it's quietness. I was searching for an additional fan on Amazon and saw the same one so ordered it and, other than being a different color, it's the same exact fan. This fan works great where space is a problem or where you need something quiet (like in our TV room). A plus is that it puts out a great amount of air and has a remote as well!

I love the fan. I does everything as advertised. The fan has more then enough air flow. My only compliant is that the remote is very directional. Because I am handicapped, sometimes it is hard to get the remote pointed directly at the fan.

I bought this Lasko 52" tower fan because of it is higher than most fans, I like it in my bedroom and the fan is quiet in the low speed! The oscillating is slower than i would like, and the fan is noisy when in high speed.

I absolutely love this fan. I have a 16" round fan by Lasko. It still works great, but takes up so much room. I decided to order this one, because I needed an additional fan. This one is so much quieter and doesn't take up hardly any room. I also think it puts more air out than the round fan. If it wasn't for the breeze, I wouldn't be able to tell that this fan is on (that is how quiet it is). I love it so much I have since purchased a second one. Also, the remote is very responsive it does not have to be pointed directly at the fan for it to work. My round fan, you practically have to stand on your head at a certain angle to get the fan to respond to it. Anyway, you won't be sorry if you purchase this fan. Did I mention I LOVE it?:)

I got this to replace a conventional Honeywell 16" fan which died just after the warranty period. The new one is about as quiet as a fan can be with just a bit less (but not a problem) airflow. I use this fan to draw air into the master bedroom thru fan-unfriendly casement windows. The only negative-ish comments are that the power cord is a bit shorter than the Honeywell and the infrared remote power is a bit lower prompting the user to pickup the remote and aim it versus pressing it while on the night stand...both problems are irrelavant when compared to the quietness and improved form-factor.

I bought this fan to use primarily in my bedroom, which is about 10ft by 12ft. It is a decent fan in a lot of ways, but it disappoints where it really matters.Pros - It looks pretty nice. - It is not too difficult to assemble. - It is pretty quiet, except as noted under Cons, below. - The remote works pretty well, except as noted under Cons, below. Cons - The airflow is dismal. I sit about 8 feet away from the fan, and even at full power (there are three levels), with the fan directly facing me, I an barely feel it. Very disappointing. - When on its highest setting, the fan begins to sound like it's broken. Perhaps mine is, and should be RMA'd, but the cost of doing so would not be worth it considering the price. - It makes a loud and annoying beep whenever it turns on or off. Shorter and much less annoying beeps are used when changing speeds. - The remote feels very flimsy, particularly the battery cover. 2xAAA Batteries are not included. - The buttons on both the fan itself and the remote are hard plastic, and feel really cheaply made. - If you are using the remote to control the fan, you might not be able to see the indicators on the fan itself to know which level each setting is on. The remote itself does not have indicators. This would primarily be an issue for the timed-deactivation, as you can easily tell which speed it's on, or whether it's oscillating. If the airflow had been good none of the other things would have really mattered too much but as it stands I am very unhappy with this fan and I do not recommend it.

Easy assembly;Works good; Really like the adjustable height. This is our second purchase of this model. The first one lasted about six years, using it throughout the night from March through October.

Not quite as powerful as a standard round fan, but a pretty good alternative if you want a fan that has a small footprint and has a nicer look.
