Couldn't be happier!, June 28, 2008
This review is from: Lasko Clip Stik Desk Fan 2-SPEED (Kitchen)
This compact fan arrived just in time for a triple-digit-temperature heat wave. With no air-conditioning at home, I needed help staying cool while sitting at my desk -- and the Clip Stik Desk Fan worked out just great.
The fan is effective within a distance of 3 feet. There's a high and a low setting, both of which are pretty quiet. And, when used without the removable clip, it takes up very little desk space (4"D x 3-3/8"W x 10-1/2"H).
Using the clip frees up even more desk space -- I can securely clamp the fan to the shelf of my computer desk. The arm of the clip attachment is adjustable at 3 different points: the elbow has 180-degree mobility, and both ends (where the arm attaches to the fan, and where it attaches to the clip) swivel from side to side.
The rubber teeth on the clip prevent it from slipping, and protect the wooden surface of my shelf.
Warning:
Though the instruction manual cautions that the clip is stable clamped to a flat surface that is between 1/4" and 1-3/4" thick, I've got it attached to a 5/8"-thick shelf and I really don't think it would hold the weight of the fan on anything much thinner.
The only negative thing I can think of is that the fan only cools an approximate 6"-wide area (side to side). But, unless you plan to move around a lot at your desk, this shouldn't be a problem.*
If you're looking for a highly effective fan that offers both a small footprint on your desktop and the option of a clamp, the versatile Lasko Clip Stik Desk Fan is a terrific choice.
( * Lasko makes a similar fan, Model: Lasko 4000. There's no Clip/clamp feature, but it oscillates, cooling a wider area as well as a longer distance. I use this one in my office and am very satisfied with it.)

Room saver, July 31, 2009
This review is from: Lasko Clip Stik Desk Fan 2-SPEED (Kitchen)
I see reviews where they say it doesn't pump out enough air. I guess they must need it to circulate a whole room. It is a desk fan and I have to say I even wish there was a lower setting. A potentiometer style control would have been much better than the 2 settings "high" and "really high". if you want a breeze to your face you will need to set it back about 3 feet at least, otherwise your eyeballs will dry out. :-P
The construction is ok for a mostly plastic fan. If you plan on adjusting it a lot, plan on the joints wearing out after a while. I was able to find plenty of places to clip it and have it stay sturdy. I give 4 stars because it fit my needs almost perfectly. -1 star for the eyeball drying.

Almost perfect, March 11, 2010

This fan does almost all its advertisements say. The one major thing that needs improvement though is the clip. it is not strong enough to hold the fan in the position I needed. Other than that it is fine.
