Wonderful Lassie Biography, April 24, 2005
This review is from: Lassie: A Dog's Life, The First Fifty Years (Paperback)
This is a fantastic biography of the most famous canine in Hollywood history - Lassie. From Lassie 1 to Lassie 8, this book gives the reader a true history of Lassie, from 1938 to 1993. Full of wonderful photographs. A great companion book to this one is The Legacy of Lassie, An Unauthorized Information and Price Guide on Lassie Collectibles.

For Lassie Lovers, a must, July 5, 2011
This review is from: Lassie: A Dog's Life, The First Fifty Years (Paperback)
If you are a fan of the MGM Lassie films, any of the Lassie TV shows, and/or collies, then this book is a must. Thanks to at least two websites related to the Lassie collies and Rudd Weatherwax, I thought I knew most details about these dogs, but Ace Collins still managed to surprise me with a wealth of new information. It's a fabulous tribute to all the Lassie collies and to the Weatherwax trainers (Rudd and Bob). Sadly, though Classic Media has provided Lassie fans with wonderful DVD's of the Lassie television shows (and Turner is releasing, yearly, new DVDs of the MGM Lassie films now), the Weatherwax-trained Lassie no longer exists. I highly recommend this insightful, informative, detailed, historical exploration into all the Weatherwax Lassie years.
