Wonderful Music From A Favorite Childhood Film, January 20, 2012

Although I never watched any of the original Lassie films I did see this one several times growing up. Like many of the films I saw as a child, the music stood out to me and became a personal favorite of my collection. I'm a fan of other works by Basil Poledouris including Conan the Barbarian, Lonesome Dove and The Hunt for Red October. While not as popular among film score buffs like those previously listed, Lassie shows a softer side to Basil's writing without sacrificing the quality of the music. This is music I will always cherish.
