5.0 out of 5 stars Another movie that deserves a DVD release, December 19, 2002
This review is from: Lassiter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This little known movie stars Tom Selleck as an American jewel cat thief in pre-World War II London. It's a great movie and has an incredible supporting cast including Bob Hoskins as a police officer doggedly on the title characters trail. Adding beauty to the movie is former Bond girl Jane Seymour as Selleck's girlfriend and the impossibly sexy Lauren Hutton as a Nazi.
With OTT Nazi's as the villains this movie truly is a great ride and a DVD release is long overdue.
There is a DVD available in Europe (Region 2) for those of us with region-free players.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vastly underated, November 26, 2008

This review is from: Lassiter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a much overlooked crime thriller, with a delightful combination of charm and suspense. Selleck plays a succesful cat burglar in London just before the outbreak of WW11, coerced into helping a brutally determined British cop, brilliantly played by Bob Hoskins, into stealing a fortune of diamonds from the Nazis. The Nazis are suitably menacing, Hoskins roguishly deceitful, and the finale has a clever and unsuspected twist. All in all, one of the better crime thriller's I have seen.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite Selleck movies---right up there with Three Men and a Baby, August 23, 2008
This review is from: Lassiter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Tom Selleck, Jane Seymour, an Bob Hoskins have great chemistry in this movie and the twists and turns keep you glued to the screen to see what will happen next. I hope the "powers that be" put this on DVD soon!!! Do you hear me??
