Several of Ruth's Moon books (WITCHING MOON, SHADOW OF THE MOON, and NEW MOON) have been on the USA Today best-seller list.

Ruth and her husband travel frequently to research settings for novels and taste new dishes for cookbooks. Her many unique experiences are apt to end up in her books--like the time she encountered a coral snake in the Guatemalan jungle or took a flight in a hot air balloon.

5.0 out of 5 stars One very great and original story line!, February 26, 2007
This review is from: Lassiter's Law (43 Light Street, Book 23) (Harlequin Intrigue Series #641) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a closing on some of York's other works and an excellent ending at that. The main story of Sam and Laurel. A very full plot!

Sam, a resigned police officer gone PI is hired by a man who says his wife is dead and the wife's friend who was hired on as the nanny has run off with his son. To top it off, the nanny is an ex-con charged with an accessory kidnaping.

Sam quickly catches up with the missing boy and nanny only to be clouded with suspicion over the father's story and maybe everything is not as it seems when the nanny begs and pleads to help them escape the father who killed his own wife and is out to hurt the boy as well. Now, Sam must protect both of them and watch his own back as well while trying to figure out what is really going on and how does it all tie into Lucas and Hannah's past?

A very full plot with many twists and turns, action packed, and an excellent closing that enables past characters Hannah and Lucas to breathe freely and come out in the open to get married, finally!

York delivers in this book even more then past books! This would definitly rate a 6 stars out of 5 if it was possible! One very good thing about York's Intrigues is that if you missed some of the previous books, you are not left wondering or out of place. All her works are wonderful, but this books definitly lurks right towards the top.

5.0 out of 5 stars Typical Rebecca York, July 20, 2005
This review is from: Lassiter's Law (43 Light Street, Book 23) (Harlequin Intrigue Series #641) (Mass Market Paperback)
...which is to say, excellent suspense and a deft avoidance of cliches in the short category format.

A P.I. is hired by a man to find the nanny he accuses of killing his wife & abducting his child. When the P.I. catches up with her, she says it was the father who killed the wife & she took the child to protect him.

Lots of trust issues, and a kid who's not overly cute or precocious, as well as some top-notch suspense. Part of a trilogy, but I haven't gotten to the previous ones yet, and I didn't feel like I'd missed anything.
