5.0 out of 5 stars Just can't put it down!!
Man it's rare to find a book as good as this!!!
I can't seem to put it down and should be finished with it in a day or two. But so far, it has held me spellbound with subject matter and method. It's written at a pace that life happens, and really helps to make you feel as if you are there.
I'm only sorry this seems to be the only book from the author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Forgot About John Glenn, March 20, 2004
By
This review is from: Last Breath: Space Station Rescue (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought this book after reading the other reviews and was disappointed. The scenario was only moderately plausible and the characters were somewhat wooden. However, he did have a good ending and sufficient action.

On the other hand, his constant political remarks were a turn-off. All the good presidents were Republicans, and Democrats have always voted against the space program. Somehow he forgot about John Kennedy and John Glenn, to name only a few. For a while I wondered if he was a ditto-head. If he could have kept the inane politics out of the story, I may not have found myself feeling impatient to get it over with so I could go on to something better.

All I can say it MORE! MORE! MORE!
How about staying with near future space program, or near future "wired techno world?"
Whatever, just give us more. I shall gladly hand over my cold hard cash to purchase anything this writer pens!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing yet,entirely believable, December 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Breath: Space Station Rescue (Mass Market Paperback)
Cammick has created a spell-binding story, reminiscent of early Heinlein. He blends the perfect amount of story-line, hard sci-fi, adventure, and likeable characters. I highly recommend this book and eagerly await the next installment of the adventures of Jake Marshall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, well written, interesting plot, September 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Breath: Space Station Rescue (Mass Market Paperback)
Instead of making older retirees the butt of jokes, Steve draws on their technical knowledge from the 60's and 70's to solve a space problem that the youngsters of 2000 can't. This is in the same genre as Tom Brokaw's "The Greatest Generation". A must read for everyone who grew up during the early years of space exploration.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a winner, August 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Breath: Space Station Rescue (Mass Market Paperback)
S. P. Cammick has an excellent command of the English language. His engineering knowledge is extensive and has made this book, LAST BREATH - SPACE STATION RESCUE, seem like a true story rather than fiction. It is unusual for a young man raised in the age of computers to put such value on people skills and experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and inspiring!, June 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Breath: Space Station Rescue (Mass Market Paperback)
This is much more than a science fiction tale. Cammick's insight into our aging population and the effects it will have on our society and economy add substance to a very entertaining and inspiring story. It is equally refreshing to see retirees cast as the solution to our country's challenges, rather than the victims or even worse, the cause of the problems. This book is a must read for every retiree and those that champion vital aging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Praise for Last Breath, May 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Breath: Space Station Rescue (Mass Market Paperback)
Cammick has succeeded admirably in combining technical know-how;an exciting, volatile situation fraught with danger; and Jake, a character whose sensitivity to his world and work is never sacrificed or drowned out by the all too-real bureaucratic/political roundtables of the day. Enthralling, entertaining, AND intelligent!!!!
