Book Description

Product Description

Lauren Rutherford knows she is many things; a virgin (at twenty five she still wasn't sure how that had happened), a failed baker, an orphan and a computer programmer. She also suspects she is ever so slightly nuts given that she often has conversations with her multiple personalities and Bad Luck is a man who seems to enjoy tormenting her at every opportunity.

What Lauren doesn't know is that she is also a witch.

She needs to learn, and fast, because the only thing between her and certain death is Agnes, her long-dead ancestor who has a foul mouth and a passion for G-strings, and Daniel, a sexy as hell male witch who drives her to distraction.

As the last descendant of a long line of witches, Lauren is the victim of a four hundred year old curse. She must survive a challenge set down by three damned souls that will take her to hell and back. Literally! And Satan doesn't do tea and scones!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

I thought I was normal, I really did, aside from the fact I had a penchant for naming the many facets of my personality. I was unlucky, I’ll grant you, but other than that, just your average twenty-five-year-old virgin.

Then my long-dead ancestor turned up with a huge appetite (who knew ghosts could eat?), a passion for G-strings, and a scorching-hot male witch in tow.

Throw in an unadulterated bitch of a familiar, three spirits baying for my blood, a six-inch-tall Geordie man, and my best friend Selina, and before you could say “Bubble, bubble” I was strapped onto the front of the roller coaster of my life, heading straight to Hell in a handbasket.

This book contains adult content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rats, Cats, and Spiders Oh My!!! September 23, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I absolutely love this book, it has everything in it that I ever look for in a book which is humor, romance, and one sex on legs paranormal man!!! haha hey nobody can blame me I am a woman haha. I am glad I was able to get my hands on this book seeing that it was rainy day today and it brought me tons of laughter on this dreary day. Oh my god I about pissed my self a few times from laughing so hard haha. Sharon has certainly developed a fantastic story with a great plot and great characters.

I adore Lauren since chapter one! She is a fun loving character that you connect to easily from the start when you read about Mr. Bad Luck harassing her at the beginning. Do not worry Lauren you are not the first person to think your late for your job on a holiday, I have done it too! Then there is Agnes who come on who doesn't love that fouled mouth 400 year old ghost of a woman haha. Natalia I connected to instantly cause I am very much like her, I love football (for Americans I mean soccer), I stay up late, and I am very good at protecting people that I love (guess you could say I do act like a familiar), also I do have a foul mouth haha. Then of course I can not for get about the sexy man Daniel who is lets faces it Sex on legs as Lauren put it hahahahaha. Oh man, Sharon has defiantly developed some fantastic characters that just made the plot even better.

The plot it self is very well formed it just has the right amount of conflict in it, you have the main problem and then the main character has smaller conflicts thrown in to mix with the main problem that she faces. It has some turns that you don't even see coming until it smacks you right upside the head and it is kind of an off set and sometimes provides a nice distraction for the character and the read for a few seconds.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must read summer story July 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found a great new author. Just when I was looking for something new to catch my attention, along came Sharon Karaa. This is a great story of losing family and creating a new one, new love and great relationships. The characters pull you right into their world. Great descriptions of the characters make them come alive. I could picture each one. The scenes came alive with each word and they painted a clear picture of each new place. Sharon has areal gift for words. My favorite character is Agnes, a spunky 400 year old ghost, who takes care of everyone. Then there is the main character Lauren who matures as the story goes on. She has lived through a great tragedy but instead of hiding from the world she takes it on and battles evil and wins.
If you are looking for a good summer book, the look no further. I can't wait for the second book to come out in the fall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Northern Witches 1 July 26, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this. I like the funny, sexy, hot, lighthearted books like this. It gives you something more than just reading a romance. It can be funny and you gotta have a sense of humor in life especially in dire circumstances like this. The characters were great! LOL. 400 year old Grandma was a hoot. She made me laugh the most. The things that came out her mouth were so funny. Mostly profanity but thats ok and sometimes that is the best thing ever! I did feel bad for Jacks brother Simon I think that was his name. He seemed like a really sweet genuinely good guy who liked her. He wasn't meant for her though but Daniel was. Can't wait for the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Delightful Paranormal Romance July 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
PLEASE NOTE: I receive a complimentary copy of this Book in exchange for an honest and impartial review.

I am happy and relieved to be able to report quite honestly that "The Last Challenge" is a delightfully entertaining lite paranormal romance with a healthy dose of humor. (I use the word "relieved" because, although personal integrity has necessitated doing so quite a few times, I never take pleasure in having to render a negative review) I'm not one of those reviewers who summaries the entire story while, I might add, giving away the entire plot. I think that the book's description on the product page sufficiently and accurately summarizes this book's plot. Therefore, my review will simply state my reactions to and overall opinion of the book's content.

Although, much of this book's plot isn't completely original or complex, Karaa offers a delightfully entertaining spin on the tale of a seemingly average 25 year old female who's world takes quite a tumble when she discovers secrets about herself, her ancestral tree, her life in general as she knew it and the ensuing roller coaster ride that is filled with danger and adventure, as well as, romance. Karaa's writing style is simplistic and concise yet descriptive enough that I was able to envision each character and many of the scene. The flow and the pace of the story are good. Although, the story's is set in England the book isn't filled with flowing prose or numerous descriptions of landmarks or landscapes. The character development is good. Arguably all the characters, except, maybe Natalia, are a tad bit one dimensional. However, I anticipate that the depth of the character development, as well as, the complexity of the characters themselves will progressively evolve and improve as the series continues.

More About the Author

Sharon Karaa is a mass of contradictions but two facets of her character have always battled for supremacy; her logical self (let's call him Frank) and her artistic side (lets her call Misty).

Until recently, Frank won every battle, forcing Sharon into a life based on most probable outcome and, to give him his credit, it has led to a fairly comfortable if rather boring life so far.

Then Misty took up kick boxing and gave Frank a good kick in the goodies.

Sharon lives with her husband in a little village north of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. She doesn't have a cat.
