Book Description

An outlaw Caribbean sailing adventure, “Last Chance to be a Cowboy” The title rings true! You can still climb Mt. Everest and you can still have a sailing adventure all the way around the world … but you can’t have an outlaw sailing adventure like this anymore. The days of a free-spirited Jamaican adventure of this kind are over … But, just like listening to a Jimmy Buffett adventure song, you still have a “Last Chance to be a Cowboy” by joining the Skipper and crew. Go Bahamian sailing and smuggling on this rollicking wild ride through the Caribbean, complete with crazy Customs and Immigration officials, outlandish ex-patriot cruisers, wild and colorful island natives and other nefarious characters. Don’t miss your “Last Chance to be a Cowboy.” Read this book! It’s full of danger, frustration, suspense, excitement, romance and laughs; a real Caribbean outlaw sailing adventure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Its the pirates life for me August 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great read. Two characters right out of a Carl Hiaasen novel or a Jimmy Buffett song have a great adventure that reads like a tale from a modern day Joseph Conrad. Sailing a homemade trimaran from New England to Jamaica and back, these two self-made pirates weave their way through a cast of crazy characters and experiences that range from the hilarious to the terrifying. After reading this book I have been thinking about getting a sailboat and heading for the islands too.

5.0 out of 5 stars When do we ship out? August 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The risk taking adventures of our youth resurface as we are carried along on a sailing escapade by two talented sailors and authors. If you are not a sailor you will likely think about becoming one after accompanying these two guys even if your goals will unlikely be quite so risky. This is not a sailing instruction manual but has enough detail to carry you along---maybe as third mate.
This was the beginning of a generation of young adults who were wise enough to seek adventure before settling down. Did they ultimately find the pot at the end of the rainbow? Maybe the sequel will tell all.
An enthralling read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read June 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Exciting and involving story about more or less ordinary guys (in other words, not Hunter Thompson)living an out of the ordinary adventure. The colorful writing draws you into an exotic world of Caribbean sailing and marijuana smuggling with the almost constant threat of great dangers, but experienced as tests of courage, ingenuity, loyalty and perseverance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly enjoyable reading! February 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is one of those books that was "fun" to read. I found myself smiling as I read it, and hoping all the while that these cowboys pulled off their caper. The only thing missing was a little salt spray and suntan lotion!
Yo Ho Ho and a little contraband.
Highly recommended.
