Virtual Villagers 2 is even more fun than the first game. Not only are there all the wonderful "puzzles" to find (and lots of hints on the internet if you can't find them yourself), but there are also combinations of stews you can make (once you find the herbs and the stew pot). My goal is to take time to make every single possible combination - and if it makes someone sick - I can let one of my doctors get some practice!

Some thing for the kids, too, there are collectables (as well as the ever-famous mushrooms) that the kids can collect.

Best of all, you can create "Esteemed Elders" by allowing your villagers to become masters in three areas. They are rewarded with ... ooops, I don't want to spoil that if you aren't into getting clues.

There are more buildings to build (including a hospital), and lots more tech points to earn, since once you build the sewing hut, you can use them to buy new outfits. [Now doesn't that one look cute!]

Like Virtual Villagers - It's not a "full time game" I enjoy popping in and checking on progress 3-4 times a day. Since it is slow paced, I gave it 4 stars for "fun" and 5 for overall.

Its a cute game... a little boring. Not a game that you can play for hours.. once a day for about an hour. Its hard at the beginning and too easy later. The collections were a nice side "quest" but its was time consuming to wait for something to pop up and then find it and realizing ... oh I already had that!. Bottom line its a cute game that you can have playing in the background as you do something else.

I purchased this game in March 2009 throught the Amazon Game Downloader and played it for approximately 2 months. I really liked the game and had a lot of fun with it.

However, in July, I tried to play the game again, but all of a sudden I can't get it to load. I keep getting a load error every time I try to load the game. I have tried unistalling and re-installing the game several times. I have contacted customer support through the game designer, but they are not sure what the problem is either. The computer says it's a problem with the Amazon game software. The game designer says it's a problem with a new Vista update. Me - I'm not sure, I just think it sucks!

I have a very new computer running Windows Vista 64-bit. I just don't understand why it worked at first, but then one day it just stopped for no known reason. If it wasn't compatible with Vista 64-bit, it should've never worked to begin with. So I guess I'd have to say that if you have a Vista 64-bit - buyer beware.

why cant i buy it with my money i have on my gift card! its frustrating! i want to get it with my gift card funds!

Because this game runs in real time I would not advise anyone to buy it for children under 14 at least, and this is not for impatient people.. kids or adults.

Because of the game moving in real time my daughters kept changing the time on my computers internal clock and messed it all up. I did not think of this when I let them play but now I know better and they've lost interest because of the slow speed.

Otherwise, this is a fun game, I liked it even if my kids didn't.

This game is really hard with all the puzzles and all. But when it comes to getting food for your villagers and such, it's really fun. Raising villagers, finding food, and running around the island is pretty fun. I tried out this game with Free Ride Games and loved it. And the part I love most about it, is that it goes by real time and stays on the whole time, even if your computer is shut off. So while you're asleep your villagers are running around the island having fun. Make sure you always leave plenty of food and stuff for the villagers before you go to bed or they could die from starvation.

Inabil;ity to gain 'Master Farmer' cripples game and makes it UNPLAYABLE. If you own an XP - PASS on this game cause you will NEVER be able to complete the game. Have played for weeks now and am unable to advance due to game unwillingness to grant experience for needed game events. GAME BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved the whole lost children theme and the great graphics that VV always offers but was a bit disappointed with this game. Very little happens in this game and i had expected much more. The makers would have done well to offer more island events (and more interesting ones; the ones that popped up were very dull), as that is what is lacking. Also, once you achieve all the Tech Levels there is nothing left to do with the tech points (other than buy a somewhat limited number of clothing choices for your villagers) and ironically enough it is not until you have gained the highest level of Science that the game is even giving a lot of tech points and by that time you have no more need of them! By the time I got enough Tech points to purchase the highest level of Science (which causes you to gain tech points faster than ever) I had no more need of tech points as there was nothing more to purchase. Then there I sat with over a million tech points and no goals to use them on. The worst feature overall is the tendency for Virtual Villager games, including this one, towards occultism. Very late in this game I discovered an occult aspect in which i logged on and a box popped up about a magic mirror found on the beach by one of my villagers and the mirror told him to speak one of two names (the player is not given the option to ignore this or opt out so you have to choose which of the names the villager will speak) When you choose one, the villager supposedly speaks it and in one scenario an old man appeared to him and then disappears. No idea what effect this had on the game but it smacks of witchcraft/occultism so i decided to remove the game from my computer. I am really getting fed up with all the occult themes of Virtual Villagers. It shows a lack of creativity when all that the major game companies can come up with is sorcery this and sorcery that, occultism repackaged over and over. As a parent i would not want my child trained up in witchcraft, no matter how subtle.

Aside from these issues i thought it to be a game with some potential. Too bad.

I enjoy adding this game to my collection of Virtual Villagers games. They're nice if you like simulation games. You just don't get in a hurry when you play these type of games.
