Don Omar The Last Don,
By Isaac (Reading, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Last Don (Audio CD)
The Don Omar CD "The Last Don" is one of the best cd's that I have bought recently. It features Daddy Yankee in one of it's tracks and over all sounds pretty good. The only tracks that I don't like are Guayaquil which is not reggaeton. It is Bayenato, a music style that is much like Plena and just sounds really different than reggaeton. I don't think it was a good choice. The other track that I don't like on the CD is the remix to track 3 "Intocable" which was done to an american style reggae beat instead of reggaeton. It sounds really weak and I simply don't like the combination. They just don't pump through the speakers enough. Aside from those two tracks, the rest of the album sounds really good and is definitely one that should be in your collection if you are a reggaeton fan. Best of luck to Don omar and Hector y Tito Los Bambinos who have control of the reggaeton genre right now. Sincerely, a true fan. Isaac~ Other good albums include: Hector Y Tito " A la reconquista"

This is one of the hottest cds in reggaeton. You need to get this CD. It's so good I'm buying it twice. I'm buying one for my family and one for me(i don't share). I love you Don Omar!

I love all reggeaton artists but, I have to say Don Omar has to be my favorite..His beats and rhymes are irresistable to sing and dance to. This cd is one of the best ones I've bought this year!! If you dont own it..I suggest you run out and get it..Believe me you wont regret it!!!

Cali Playa: Belle Biv Devoe over Don Omar ???,

'Nuff said. Everybody that doesn't ahve THOSE tastes has at least moderately enjoyed this production by Don Omar. Not up to the musical validity of Tego, but still a very strong reggaeton record with lots of variety in rhyme and rhythm. Extra credit for making it to the world audience with much success. Just go to any European club and listen to the first reggaeton beat that is played (it's a lock at least a couple will be played)... probabilities are a coin-flip between Don Omar and Daddy Yankee. The whole room will shake either way!

Reggaeton is here whether you like or not,
This review is from: Last Don (Audio CD)
I would have to take a moment and say to the reviewer who refers to this review as bad, same drum beat, and sad... to really listen to the lyrics. Reggaeton is a blend of Reggae and Puerto Rican Plena, crossed over to hip hop. Now, if that is not different... well. The same could be same to the simple 2 x 4 drumbeat of Disco, Techno, and Rock n'Roll... dum dum bam, dum dum bam... or ba da bim. As drummer... if you are one, that is your beat. Furthermore, don Omar's Cd lyrics are interesting because they talk about political, and socialeconomic issues of Puerto Ricans, the working class and the poor.
I recommend the cd. |
