5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, March 30, 2009
By
AJ (Provo, UT) - See all my reviews
This is book #4 in the series, in it Jessie learns that her Grandmother is worried about the Fairy Realm, mostly Hidden Valley and the fairy-apple trees that grow there. She asks Jessie to go to the Realm to find out what is wrong. So Jessie goes to the Realm taking a gnome, (Bilbert the Brave) that they found trapped in the human world, with her and asks for help from her friends there, Maybelle the miniature horse, Patrice the palace housekeeper and Giff the Elf.
I like these books they are a fun read, with many interesting characters and adventures. They are very hard to put down once you start to read them. They make me smile and worry and celebrate. And quietly in the background of the story is a good values message, like keeping promises is important, and don't be too greedy, etc. It doesn't hit you over the head with them, you just kind of feel them as you read. I really like the illustrations too. So start with #1 and get reading but have #2 handy as you will want to read more once you start.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The best book I've ever read!", May 28, 2008
By
Mr B (Australia) - See all my reviews
In this book there's a girl named Jessie the princess and she lives with her grandma Mrs Belairs and her mum Rosemary. In their backyard they have a secret door to a garden called the Realm! In the Realm there's a place called the Hidden Valley and in the Hidden Valley there are usually lots of Fairy Apple Trees, but today there isn't.
The reasons I liked the book are:
1) When you get to the middle of the book it starts a problem and that's when you get in the mood of the story. It really catches your imagination.
2) The second reason I liked the book is because every chapter there's a picture and the picture looks so real!
3) I like the author Emily Rodda because she writes interesting books and she has won five awards!
Do you want to know what happened? Well what are you waiting for? Read the story and find out! I think you should read this book because Emily Rodda seems to know what children want to read!
