Book Description

June 20, 2000
The chemical and biological terrorism we've all been fearing has finally happened on American soil, as a band of unidentified terrorists invades Texas. American military superpower is ineffective against the new weapons of mass destruction wielded by the new generation of terrorists from small airplanes circling overhead major cities. But fate throws together a young woman abducted from her beach vacation, a small group of men with home-built experimental aircraft, and an air show team from the Confederate Air Force with their vintage World War II airplanes. Together, they manage to thwart the largest terrorist threat of the dawning 21st century using a combination of high-tech equipment, low-tech trickery, and raw courage!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic war games story with a great plot twist!, August 26, 2001
This review is from: Last Flight of the Liberators (Paperback)
Dave Morris' "Last Flight" starts in high gear and never lets up on the accelerator until the last paragraph closes. Don't let the fact that you've never heard of Morris stop you, this is one of the finest first novels I've ever seen. The story alone is worth the read -- excellent character development with a fast-paced plot: action-filled flight scenes, believable political dangers, massive explosions, massacres of innocents and daring escapes... this is like the best of Tom Clancy crossed with Indiana Jones. There's a plot twist that fooled me and made the book even more delightful a story. (And more real and frightening!) Even better are the details on WWII fighter planes, radar and air traffic control, international espionage, and citizen defense groups. Morris is a pilot, a war plane expert and a ham radio operator, so it's not just believable, it's authentic. Recommended for anyone who likes a good adventure and war story, and any pilot, WWII buff or war games fan. Thanks, Dave! Keep them coming!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ominously predicts 9/11 type attack, June 14, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Flight of the Liberators (Paperback)
Although this book was published well before September 11, 2001, the attack described in the novel has many eery parallels to the one perpetrated on the World Trade Center towers and the others that have been threatening the USA since that time.

Tom Clancy and other authors have written many novels that depict possible scenarios for terrorist attacks. Unfortunately, nobody at the CIA or FBI seems to read them, or they would have been better prepared. Read this one and then watch the news. You won't be quite as surprised any more.
