4.0 out of 5 stars Tad Robinson Shows Us What He's Got!!!, December 7, 2002

This review is from: Last Go Round (Audio CD)
There are a lot of practitioners of Chicago Blues and Tad Robinson is a very welcome addition to the list. Growing up in New York City, he got the Blues bug, eventually moving to Chicago in the mid-1980's. In Chicago he played on a regular basis in some of the city's best clubs. He spent time in bands with Dave Spector and in Big Shoulders before striking out on his own.

This, his second Delmark release, shows us that Tad Robinson is a force to be reckoned with, both as a singer and as a harmonica player. His singing is reminscent of the great Soul singers of the 60's and his harmonica playing shows that he's learned an awful lot from folks like Junior Wells and other Chicago Blues harmonica masters.

I'd definitely recommend that you give this CD a good listen.

tad robinson is a great vocalist in the same vain as otis clay mighty sam mclain who can combine soul and blues all in one. eight of the twelve songs are original with alex schultz on guitars. most of the songs are umptempo with a dash of low down dirty blues mixed in for good measure
