5.0 out of 5 stars This is an awesome album.....
Habitually, I write good reviews of the albums that I like. As such, I have a tendency to give fives for most everything I review-- and I have written a lot of them....

This is the best album that I have heard released in 2000. Princess Superstar is a well-concieved, well-delivered, well-produced progressive album that is in the same line as Kool Keith (with a girl...

2.0 out of 5 stars Uhh...I wanted to like this but...
I heard Princess Superstar on a track with (the ridiculosly funny) MC Paul Barman. I was very impressed with both her wordplay and her delivery. But, then I heard her own solo tracks. To spare the track-by-track rundown, I'll just say the album isn't very entertaining. I have as much respect for killer guest appearances as the next guy, but you have to be able to...

Habitually, I write good reviews of the albums that I like. As such, I have a tendency to give fives for most everything I review-- and I have written a lot of them....

This is the best album that I have heard released in 2000. Princess Superstar is a well-concieved, well-delivered, well-produced progressive album that is in the same line as Kool Keith (with a girl in a sultry voice occasionally playing the part) and old order Beastie Boys updated for the nineties.

Every song on this album is well put together. It's sort of what would occur if you took a punk band, a chick who looks like Britany Spears with about a 200 IQ, Handsome Boy Modelling School's obscurantia samples, and a GOOD Kool Keith album (like Sex Style) and put them together such that you could dance to it.

Fans of ANY kind of music would dig this album. Plus, it could stand as a comedy record.

Buy this! I've listened to the album three times through in twelve hours since I bought it.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Princess Superstar Rules!, March 30, 2002

She is the most clever MC around--her lyrics are brilliant, her beats rule, and she is incredibly cool.

You gotta get this album... and get her newest disc "Is" as well. Every one of her tracks is a sonic journey into amazing hip-hop and electronica.

I can't believe she isn't a real superstar yet. I'm sure she will be soon enough.

i love this album. speaking as a woman who likes nothing more that to hear another woman who doesn't take any bull speak her mind in intelligent, catchy, funny, crafty music, thii salbum provides me with enjoyment on many different levels. princess is an artist that can be sexual and enticing without debasing herself or her intelligence. let's also not forget that becasue she also has her own label, she is an artist we can all salute to as a true musicain who cared more about her art and her atuonomy over it rather than take a taste of that alluring corporate carrot.

Yeah, this album is probably one of the funnies rap records that is out right now. Princess Superstar is crazy like none of your business. I usually don't listen to too musch rap, but I'd say this is definitely one of the best records not in rotation at MTV right now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Princess Superstar Entering Into Lengendary Status, September 3, 2005
By
This review is from: Last of the Great 20th Century Composers (Audio CD)
Princess Superstar has made a definite positive impact on the Hip-Hop & Rap community in a massive underground way that only she could. She is the first to snatch the almighty "First White Female Rap Artist" due to her amazing intellengence of life in New York and Street Life Venues. Witty, Sharp, Fun, Comical, Serious, & Fast Flows are really the only way to best describe her. Put the Princess in a Rock venue and all will applaud as well as any Hip-Hop venue cause she is no stranger to ways of a rock artist, as she continued through out the mid to late 90's she tried out many a different styles with Rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, Dance, Electro and just when you'd think she had found her nitch in the sand, she goes on to become a mighty turntablist Dj who not only uses her own material to get the vibe going but with friends like Moby along side her, the beats just grew more intense, spring up a really wicked name to it saying "Dj's Are Not Rockstars". Now we enter into a remarkable period for the Princess, "My Machine" 2005 is looking into the future and with every style that she has known is put to the test, not only does she prove in more ways than 1 that she still has the gift of "Awesome" she know shows us that she is "Lengendary"

So final thought - Princess Superstar 2005 "My Machine"

To spare the track-by-track rundown, I'll just say the album isn't very entertaining. I have as much respect for killer guest appearances as the next guy, but you have to be able to translate that into a dope album as well. I don't think it happened here. The lyrical content and some of the production earn 2 stars, but I'm saving those other 3 stars for when she becomes more than just a "one verse MC". And no, I will not give her extra props for being a white woman in a field dominanted by black men. :)
