Well Ms. Harris has surprised me again. You start out thinking it is going to be a romantic novel and she puts a twist on it. I wish I had read this book when my loved one was going through her attacks I might have been able to help her. It is an eye opener. When you read this book you have to remember that it was written in 1981. There have been a lot of advancements and changes since then. I always enjoy Ms. Harris's books. She turns what you think is a boring subject into an exciting and informative one. This book does have some strong language. Always good reading.

This is the most interesting work of fiction I have ever read (& I've read a lot in my 52 years!). I don't know Marilyn Harris' background (or even if she is still alive!), but the story could only have been told by someone who endured the ordeal of hospitalization for angina and heart attack. This book was not just sensitively written--it affected my life. We have been sold a bill of goods by the medical community when we think surgery is the only alternative to heart problems. This beautifully-written book, ALONG WITH THE RESEARCH IT STIMULATED, has convinced me that I would NEVER have open-heart surgery, nor would I encourage anyone I love to do so.
