This was my 7th in the Last Gunfighter series. If it had been the first, it would have been the last. I suspect the second author did more work on this one than earlier books. The book is filled with trite cliches. I lost count of how many times Frank heard the whistle of a bullet past his ear and how many times desperadoes tried to "ventilate" him. Compared to his other books, this one is weak and predictable.
