Frank Morgan takes a trip to Seattle on the way to Alaska. That information alone was enough to get me excited about this book, since I lived in Seattle for seven years. Frank meets an old friend who, as he is dying, gets Frank to make a promise. And Frank, of course, never goes back on his word. This book is an interesting mix of Frank's classic Western values in a different setting. There is a lot more suspense in the story, which I enjoyed. The suspense adds a lot to Frank's adventure because in some of the previous books he wins against incredible odds and sometimes it seems a little too easy. I liked the new characters that seem like they will carry over to other books, like the Smoke Jensen series does. If you like action, suspense and, of course, everything about Frank Morgan and the West, you will really enjoy this book.
