Relentless Aaron has written another wicked novel that has his readers begging for more. This tale of drug kingpins, gun-toting biker chics, sheisty women, informants, and shady law enforcement officials is so INTENSE, so DEEP, it reads like a movie. There's so much to the storyline it's like your actually getting two or three books in one! The twists and turns in this RAW and GRITTY novel make it all the more exciting. You never know what is going to happen next. And when reading Relentless, don't even try to guess! Let me tell you...if you thought 'PUSH' was hot "you 'aint seen nothin' yet". Pick up 'The Last Kingpin' today. This one is off da hook!

TOO MANY CHARACTERS!,

This review is from: The Last Kingpin (Mass Market Paperback)
This book started off really good and promising, but after I got to like 100 and the author was STILL introducing characters..I tossed it aside. It's hard to focus on a story when the author has created like ten or eleven main characters. This story was very hard to follow after about three chapters because each chapter a new character was created. This one really deserves two stars, but I gave it an extra star for the beginning because it was really good.

AWESOME!!... A Literary King!,
This review is from: The Last Kingpin (Paperback)
THE LAST KINGPIN is a work of both labor and art. Relentless Aaron unveils the rawest and most explicit literary work of the world(s) of Kingpins and illicit drug industry. No one is exempt from exposure in this game. The intelligence of the U.S. Goverment at ALL levels are revealed in their strategies and involvement with the unlawful drug industry. The settings range from the deepest inner most parts of Columbia, South America(the forests of Bogota - the make shift labs hidden in huts of the rainforests and jungles; the parts tourists elude) to the well known parts of NYC; Long Island and South Beach, Miami. The involvement of the lowest street-runner to the epitome of the exclusive cartels of the drug empire will have you paranoid from the knowledge imparted in this book. Your pysche will be challenged through the personalities written in this book. They are fiction, yet so real! The personalities written are so well created and developed - from the people in the 'hood to the powerful government high ranking officials. This is not a typical book where you can even begin to guess results for the characters. What you think really isn't what is seems. This author plays tag with the thoughts of your mind. It's a "hit and run" game with the author as you try to resolve and conclude matters in this novel. I recommend this book to all serious readers. It's one book of the Relentless collection that you'll want to read.

WTF??,

This review is from: The Last Kingpin (Mass Market Paperback)
It took me about 4 months to read this book. That's how slow it was. I had to keep putting it down. So many new, unnecessary characters were introduced that I lost track of what and who the book was supposed to be about. The actual king pin was barely in the story. What a waste. I will never buy another Relentless Aaron book.

Who Was the First One???,

Okay, I will start by saying that I have heard great things about Relentless writing skills. He was very "street" and often times he could write a very sexual explicit book that would make you ask, "who has he been with?" Anyway, it was a slow reading week and I saw this book was on the mass market, and figured I would check him out myself. WTH??????
The first few chapters were pretty decent and give you a little story on a Columbian family and their involvement in making some money, which nevertheless turned into greed. After that, it went downhill. After about two or three more chapters, I brought out my pen and pad and begin to write down the slew of names that were coming at me. Every chapter introduced a new person or people and their involvement into the game. By chapter 20, I was up to thirty people. I assumed that they would all link together and sure enough they did. By that time, I really didn't care. Way too many fictional circumstances going on that even my eight year old nephew would not believe; but that didn't stop me, I dredged on. I finally an introduced to someone that I assumed was the Kingpin. After a few chapters, I wanted to know how the *^&^** was he a kingpin? I was well informed a few paragraphs later that it is the amount you sell which makes you a kingpin. Forget all your "people" are snitching on you, forget the fact that your security is whack, forget the fact that you should have little or nothing to do with drugs and connections because other people should handle that for you. Also, forget the fact that absolutely no one is scared of you, oh did I say his people snitched on him. Not one but ALL his people. All they all knew him. Maybe it is an assumption to me but I didn't think that runners and middlemen knew who the "kingpin" was. He face wouldn't be known by anybody. Hey, I am not into that type of business so maybe I was misinformed. Unfortunately, I could go into so much that was wrong with this book but why? It really wouldn't matter. I am going to go back to the Relentless fans and ask what they were thinking. Maybe I picked up the wrong book or someone used his name as a cruel joke. In any event, unless, he confirms either one of my guesses in regards to this book, The Last Kingpin will be my last read by him. |
