You always knew the beats were gonna be there and all that's anticipated is how big Jadakiss would do it lyrically. There's not a single bad thing I can say about this album and at $5 for the entire album you should find out for yourself. Get it and appreciate, I know I did.

This whole album is crazy. But #6 "One More Step (feat. Styles P.)" is so sick, just that one song by itself makes this album worth copping. Ringtone rappers, this is not the season. Take lessons from real spitters. We need that Lox album immediately.

It is great to see Kiss come out with another strong album reppin' for the east coast because the east needs the greats like Kiss to stay in the game. Why hasn't this man sold more records than he should be selling is a mystery to me that I just can't solve. Check out a real hip hop review http://ufammink.com/?p=15

This album is hot from start to finish. This is real hip-hop and Jadakiss shows it in this album. The album has a grown & sexy/hardcore fell to it. After almost 5 years of waiting (and many mixtapes put out in between) Jadakiss finally drops his 3rd solo album. FINALLY!
I could say a lot about this album, but here's the bottom line: Its still hood, but not so much. Compared to Kiss The Game Goodbye this is a much more grown up piece of work. Jada has always had a penchant for awesome lyrics, and in doing that he touches on some good topics in his verses, but for the most part dude has been straight hood with his songs with a majority of his work, and thats ok. He's still so nice with it that its actually redeemable. What makes The Last Kiss different is that he balances it all out nicely. The first 1/3 of the CD is mainly just club songs and ridin music, the middle part is more conscious, heavy, make you think type songs like "Why" from his last CD, and the last part is his more hood, grimy material. There are a plethora of star studded cameos on this CD. I think Jada is only by himself on 2 tracks out of 18. Most of them are great selections (except for "Something E.lse remix" that sucked) A few of the songs on here could have easily been left off the album ("Stress Ya", "Something Else", "Who's Real") because they just sucked. Jada is mad nice with the lyrics, but he cant make a club hit to save his life, and thats fine. I prefer it that way. He woulda been better off with some of his mixtape material on here in my opinion, but unfortunately I'm not the one calling the shots on his music. Overall, this is a pretty good album, and it woulda been great if not for the throw away songs. 4.5/5. Top 5: What If One More Step Smoking Gun Letter To B.I.G. Death Wish

Classic LP,

In this day in age with swagger rappers and dance gimmics. Jadakis was able to still give us a classic lp. He had to change with the times on the collabs but its still a classic at this day in age. Give him a break hip hop is not where it was when you have MCs rapping over breaks and jazz riffs and chopped samples. Hip hop is all about changes so he adopted and still come out on top. We need to start buying records again instead of downloading the best songs online. That would bring hip hoop back if we go out and buy music.

WTF - I thought this was Lame!!!,

Apparently I'm alone in thinking that this CD was kinda whack. Way too 'pop' - nowhere near the fire of 'Kiss Of Death'. Jadakiss can't decide whether to go Hard or go Soft - and the sound is just all over the place! No coherency whatsoever. A few of the hooks are gay - 'If you're real and you know it CLAP YOUR HANDS' <-- are you [...] kidding me?? CLAP YOUR HANDS? C'mon maaaaan!
Nahhhh.....compared to the Kiss My A$$ mixtape? - 'Last Kiss' is a disappointment. Jadakiss is capable of much much better.

Its been 5 years since Jadakiss last album "Kiss Of Death" which gave us the hit "Why". Since then Jada has been seen on several mixtapes and guest spots on numerous projects. Now Mr. K.I.Double shot has returned with the highly anticipated "The Last Kiss"
Jadakiss past albums have suffered from what I call "Can-I-Bus" syndrome. A great lyricist with subpar production. But his albums lack continuity. The perfect marriage of Jada's clever metaphors and hit-you-in-the-face wordplay along with a stellar beat is what hip hop fans need. Without it, he and hip hop are headed for a divorce. There are times where the beats and lyrics work perfectly. "What If" ft NaS should have been named "Why Part 2". It gives you more of what you loved the first time around. "Things I've Been Through" uses a Luther Vandross sample and blends it perfectly with Jada's storytelling. You expect more from "Something Else" ft Young Jeezy. Maybe it needs a better hook. "One More Step" has Jadakiss and Styles P finishing each others bars as they've been doing since the L.O.X. Styles sounds like a hypeman trying to get his own record deal. "Smoking Gun" ft Jazmine Sullivan tells a story of a black girl lost over a cheesy beat. Good message but I liked it better when NaS did it on "It Was Written". Ghostface and Raekwon outshine Jada on "Cartel Gathering". "Death Wish" closes the album out on a high note. Lil' Wayne gives a stellar 16 and the beat is dark. Probably the best production on the album. Mixtapes have kept Jada's street cred afloat. But his albums are sinking and on life support. He claims to be the Top 5 dead or alive. Well no matter who is on your top 5 list, they all understand that you need more than just lyrics to survive. And they all have one thing in common...at least one classic album. Learn Jada. Learn.

I was really excited about the new jadakiss album, its been 5 years since his last one, i thought he fell off
But Jada comes really hard on this album all the songs are quality material, one thing thats different on this album is the guest list Lil wayne, young jeezy, nas, mary j blige, faith evans, ghostface killah, raekwon, ne-yo, pharrell & more The album is so diverse you can listen from end to beginning One thing i really liked was that he didnt have a single auto tuned song on his whole album Literally every album i've bought in the last year have had at least one auto tune song Jada sticks to what he does best, and brings in something new but with an old school sound A 4 star just because it wasn't perfect, but close to it Who's Real is the only song i skip everytime |
