Strong lyrics, great voice,

I'm not sure that I can agree with the reviewer below that thinks Jenn Lindsay will ever be 'big' but then stranger things have happened...
I can say she's a great sort of counter-culture-folk-rock-whatever artist. I hate to try and compare artist but since she isn't a household name let's say she falls somewhere between Jewel and Ani DiFranco. I agree that "Whiteroom" is a good place to start, but I would move quickly onto "Sidewalk Song" which for me is the strongest on the album. I think she has like 3 or 4 other CDs. I have "FIRED!" which is also a very strong CD.

Good on the ends, rough in the middle,

It's a good CD but a little inconsistent. It opens very strong (Whiteroom, Cedartrees, are both great) but tapers off in the middle (Doggy and Close could have been left off the album). Fortunately it picks up around Jill+Jill and by Sidewalksong we are back in business.

The next big thing?,
By Don (Maine) - See all my reviews

I'm honestly not clear as to why Jenn Lindsay isn't famous. Now I like a lot of music that just doesn't have a wide enough appeal to ever make it on the radio. So though I like her music a lot I know I'm not the best judge of popular taste.
However I took note when my two daughters (21 and 23) and their friends became rabid fans of this CD and stole it from me. I came here to buy another for me because they have made it clear I'm too old for it so forget getting my CD back. This time I'm keeping it in my car. Anyway... Lindsay has that young, hip, indie sound that frankly sells a lot of CDs these days. Give "Whiteroom" a listen and see if you don't agree it should be all over the radio. And then buy it despite that fact.
