The title truly says it all. from start to end, mr. Workman brings us everything most mainstream bands SHOULD: Emotion. Truly incredible, mr. Workman. I'm proud to say i'm from the same country as you. I saw him while on a trip to Britian this summer (2002). From a finger cymbal version of "striptease", to an old classic "sad house daddio" (where hawksley pulled out 2 "dancing" sticks with dolls heads on them) he oozed charisma as he prowled across the stage, shooting the audience looks. Bravo, Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars to Canada!, June 1, 2006

Ever since Matthew Good broke up, I've been searching for the perfect Canadian Rock band. Hawksley is it. He's not so much rock as Matthew Good, however he delivers awesome music. I have not heard is new album (Treeful of Starling), but this is my favroite album thus far.

Striptease and Jealous of Your Cigarette are two of the catchiest songs I have ever heard, and although the bulk of the album is a little more down-tempo adult contemporary, it still rocks to me. This album will not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an album, September 14, 2003
This review is from: Last Night We Were (Audio CD)
How can you not fall in love with the obscenely talented Hawksley Workman?

Workman's admitted that this album is a consious decision to be more accessible to a mainstream audience, luckily for me that doesn't result in a watered down version of his pop genius. I love this album for its witt, its charm and power.
