Not their Best, But Demanded by Fans,

This album belongs on the bootleg rack. Had I paid $28 for an unauthorized recording, I would have felt like I got a great deal. However, this CD does not represent the thought and energy put into the previous two albums, and comes across more like a management compilation than one from the band. The songs, individually, are great, but a few issues with the album include: (1) No Live Version of Mambo Jambo (2) No continuity from one song to the next (3) They did not pick their best show for the live material (Peghead Release Party at Moscow Social Club was their best performance that I attended)

Ever since Black Happy broke up the Seattle music scene became so boring. This was the best band to see live EVER! The energy and sound was and still is UNTOUCHABLE!

Like many fans out there, I never heard of Black Happy until I saw them in concert (in Coeur d'Alene back in '95). They definitely found a successful nitch in rock by using a horn section in their works. The integration was unique and sounded awesome together. They were on the fast-track to success before they broke up. I was very dissapointed when the announcement filtered out. In my opinion, Peghead was their best collaboration and Freindly Dog Salad was a close second. I am constantly amazed some other up and coming band doesn't try to copy the style that Black Happy started.

I actually bought this CD before buying Peghead. Unfortunately i didn't here about these guys until after they broke up. This is a great CD filled with different songs, 7 live performances included, and a mix of different songs recorded at different times throughout Black Happy's career. I'd have to say that my favorite song on here is Mambo Jambo!

This was one of the best live northwest bands ever. I was lucky enough to see them live all over from Sandpoint to Seattle. Buy it if you are into Black Happy! And yes, I have friendly dog salad on tape. *grin* Don't think it ever came out on cd?

The album is good for a last one. They broke up before they were bad and their sound killed by fame. I respect that, but I miss their shows. The live tracks bring back some of that nostalgia, and that's important to me. Hey... anyone seen the Friendly Dog Salad album anywhere?
