Rock on!,

Well! This was a treat! I remember listening to Giant back in the early 90's and had recently been thinking about the song "I'll See You In My Dreams". I bought this CD and was treated to the best thing I've heard in a long time. There were a lot of "Hair bands" out there when this album was released such as Damn Yankees or Winger who were great. Giant was right up there with them in quality and class. This album has two of the best power ballads that ever were: "I'll See You In My Dreams" and " Love Welcome Home". Besides those two, every song on this album is totally listenable, if that's even a word. The music is so well-balanced between vocals and instruments that you can actually enjoy the singing without being bowled over by overly dramatic instrumentation. Needless to say, I really like this album. I have yet to hear their other album, but I can tell you that it's a shame that Giant disappeared from the scene so quickly. However, Dann Huff is currently a dominant force in the Christian music industry adding his class and talent to a growing genre'. You'll definitely enjoy this group and this album if you give it a chance.

A REDISCOVERED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN TREASURE!,

I first bought this album back in 1990 because of the song "I'll See You In My Dreams", but I soon discovered that the whole album was a winner and that this band was about more than just this one song! GIANT was one of the few really good bands that emerged from the music scene of the late 80's and early 90's that seemed to know how to write and to perform(not to mention actually knew how to play more than three chords), and in my opinion, should have recieved more notoriety than they did. I can think of a number of groups who were more popular and sold more albums & singles than GIANT, and who knows what happened to most of them. To put it mildly, a lot of garbage music came out of this era, but the album "LAST OF THE RUNAWAYS" by GIANT isn't one of them!As I said, I enjoy pretty much every song on the album. Among my favorites are "Innocent Days", "I'll See You In My Dreams", "I Can't Get Close Enough", "No Way Out", "It Takes Two", and "Hold Back The Night", but my absolute favorite I would say is "Love Welcome Home". I get chills everytime I hear it. How DANN HUFF & COMPANY came up with this one is one of the great mysteries of life, but it definitely sums up what all of us hope to feel when we have finally found that one great love in our lives. To sum up, this is a vital piece of music important to anyone that is a fan of 80's & 90's Rock & Roll. I hope that the music of GIANT will find new listeners in the 21ST Century!

I'm A Believer...,

...in Giant. They know how to make REAL music. Songs like these never die, and as music changes through the years, songs like these only get better and better when we look back on them. This album is definately the best of all the Giant albums. My introduction to Giant was actually their song Stay from Time to Burn. It hooked me from the first notes, and soon I was listening to Gian all the time. The skills of the band are amazing. They can write a song that truly touches the heart through the color of the lyrics and emotion in the tone of the voices. Listen to IT Takes Two- truly the best example of all their talent combined. The vocals are absolutely great and the sound is so clean and clear. The power of the lyrics and the clarity of the vocals combined enter straight to the soul on the winds of emotion. The guitar work on the album makes me listen in awe at Dann Huff and wonder why I ever attempted the instrument myself. He is definately a legend in the making. This CD is the best way you could spend you money right now!

Few albums grow on you like this one..........the guitar , bass , keyboards, drums all click to a heartbeat that has original style electrifying your brain with every song...........spirit of Rock and Roll with a variety of approaches from mild to "let's get it on type spirit". I particularly like "Hold Back the Night" for the easy intro and the full force "plunge" it takes the beat [to...so] what do you [think...sample] some..."Time to Burn" was the next release and is ALSO excellent "craftsmanship".

The Huff Brothers do it again.,
This review is from: Last of the Runaways (Audio CD)
If Dan Huff had not been such a great producer (Wynnona/Keith Urban/Montgomery Gentry/ Trace Atkins/Jo Dee Messina) he could have been a Rock Star. His playing has earned him the CMA's Award for "Best Musician in Nashville" and this album shows why.
I read the review by this Don Scott guy and would ask him which Bill Lane he is speaking of as I know 5 myself and all of them are guitar pickers. There is the Bill Lane from the Boston area, Bill Lane from LA and NY who is an engiineer, and Bill Lane of Bleu Lane in Nashville who is daggone great guitar player. Some one told me that David Huff was slated for producing Bleu Lane's first major label release. This in no way approaches this guys comments but from where I am listening the Huff's did a dadgum great job on their own before any affilliation with Terry Thomas too. Giant featured the late Van Stephenson of Blackhawk on backing vocals and keyboards. The Huffs writing and playing comes through on this album and their other two albums for different labels that track the band from their California beginnings to their Nashville sessions with just about every major album over the past couple of years. Again this album shows why.

"I'll See You In My Dreams" is such an awesome song. I can listen to it endlessly and never get tired of it. Beautiful. Does anybody know if there is a video to this song? A friend of mine said he saw the video to it and that it is really awesome. I have been looking for it on the internet and can't find it. Can anyone help? : )

Best Of 80's Rock!,
By Daedalus Auditor (Lewiston, ID USA) - See all my reviews

This album is a perfect example of the best music that late 80'sRock N' Roll has to offer. Flawless guitar solos and great Vocals; Giant was too good to be true and overlooked. Dann Huff; (lead vocals and lead guitar) is the most talented studio guitar player ever. You can find his name on many albums. But, when he was in charge of his own band; he knew how to excell. If you like clean and unbelieveable guitar playing, this album is a "must buy". If you like good classic Rock, you should check out this CD. This is definatly my favorite album from 1985-1992.

Giant - COMEBACK,
By A Customer
This review is from: Last of the Runaways (Audio CD)
Yes, this album is fantastic. Obviously, the reviews indicate this. The big news? Just read that Giant is planning a comeback .. some new tunes and some dusted off older material, for a late 2001 release. Keep your fingers crossed!

DAN HUFF ROCKS!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Last of the Runaways (Audio CD)
This is one of the best rock discs I have ever heard. After all these years I still enjoy listening to it. Dan, if you ever read this, please come back to the rock world. All these hair spray bands of the 80s are making combacks but none hold a candle to Giant. The guitar playing is comparable to Eddie Van Halen and the song writing is equally good.
