A Great Soundtrack!!,

One of the best soundtracks in recent memory. Stirring, emotional, completely in tune with the visual layout of The Last Samurai, this is a great sountrack worth listening to and enjoying over and over again.

Another great score by Hans Zimmer. I listen to it multiple times a week and it never gets old. The dramatic music brings back scenes to my mind with amazing clarity.

One of Zimmer's nicer scores,
This review is from: The Last Samurai: Original Motion Picture Score (MP3 Download)
I like Hans Zimmer. Sure, he gets a lot of flack from soundtrack buffs, but I still like him, in general. This particular score has become an unexpected favorite of mine, racking up roughly 40 plays in the last 3 months (thank you last.fm). It has some simple themes that just stir up my heart somehow; after seeing the movie, this is even more accentuated.
Although quite different, I'd also recommend Zimmer fans take a look at Beyond Rangoon - it's one of his older scores that doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves. If you'd like to see what else I tend to listen to (to judge whether you should pay any attention at all to what I've written here), look me up on last.fm with the username xiongchiamiov.
