Going everywhere and nowhere at once...,

I'll preface this with the usual, I've been a fan of Reggie since the beginning, love all the other albums...yadda yadda yadda (I even named my cat Reggie). So I was very excited when the break-up rumors were cast aside and the new album was announced.
Well now it's here and I don't know what to think. As a fan I feel a little detached from this effort. And I don't mind bands growing and changing their sound. In fact I welcome it most of the time. But with this CD there's something off. Others have mentioned how it's "mad" or "angry" sounding and it is. With all the other albums you got a sense of humor and fun with the music that just isn't present here. Instead of the occasional appearance by "Hungry Bear" the majority of the CD is spent with screaming vocals. Not only that but 2 or 3 different sounding screaming vocals (just the style he uses). On top of that there's some of the "normal" vocal thrown in on occasion as well. The sound of the whole package is harder, with just a few soft moments thrown in. And there really isn't any "dance" sound to be found (though you may be able to argue that at one point). And one big thing that I found is that the tracks seemed very "jerky" to me. Meaning they just don't seem to flow all the time. As a Reggie album I was disappointed (probably my least favorite album), as just a new album I thought it was average. I realize this is a bit of a conceptual effort, even therapeutic for him judging from the lyrics. But the music seemed to regress and it was a bit of a let down for me. Still if you enjoy Reggie, you gotta get it. I know this is a bit of a harsh review but it's worth getting, just try not to go in with any pre-conceived notion on what you think you know about Reggie and the Full Effect.

Best Album from Reggie,

I am not a fan of my chemical romance so I was worried that playing with them might influence james but this album is amazing. It is very mature for a reggie album and as usual offers a variety of musical styles. An absolute must buy! He has definitly gone in the right direction.

Incredible!,
This review is from: Last Stop: Crappy Town (Audio CD)
It seems as if James got a bit mad within this album, but he does an incredible with it! Just to warn though that this is not the same RatFE that you heard within earlier albums, it is much more like his previous album "Songs not to get Married To" only progressing further into his new genre. I will be listening to this nonstop for a very long time and so will all my friends!
