Jack's last studio recording,
By Denis (NJ, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: One Last Time (Audio CD)
In 1990, Jack made a triumphant comeback from Europe and recorded 3 CDs worth of blues material in his hometown of New Orleans. First was "Back Home in New Orleans", second was "Forever and Ever", and this one was the last, having been released posthumously following Jack's passing in 1992. Despite Jack's age, the raw blues power of this record is still hard-hitting, much like his classic "Blues from the Gutter". His playing and singing are full of spirit and soul, and he delivers a fine mix of hot New Orleans boogie and slow blues numbers. Some of these songs really stir your soul, making you want to get up and dance!! He's truly a legend, in fine form right to the end.
