pushing boundaries in Christian POP, June 12, 2001
This review is from: Last Time I Was Here (Audio CD)
This is on of the best Christian pop albums I've ever heard! Unlike many other artists, Duncan approaches the genre w/ style and creativity. Not feeling that each song must have an overt "Christian" message, Duncan writes and sings honestly. Some of these songs will send chills up your spine, while others will actually make you laugh out loud. Duncan is well known for the humor he often displays in his music, and on this album it is honestly, comfortably, and deeply integrated into the material. The production on this album deserves a mention. While Duncan's voice is almost like a special effect itself -- an incredible range and variety of tonalities is always in evidence on any album -- he experements with interesting vocal processing effects and unusual double-tracking on this album, giving the whole CD a strange, fresh, and unusual texture. Duncan keeps you guessing on this album, and the creative, humorous, and positive spirit in evidence here is reason to GET this NOW!

Bryan is timeless, February 14, 2000
This review is from: Last Time I Was Here (Audio CD)
I first was introduced to Bryan's work back in the 1970's through Sweet Comfort Band. I am impressed that his music stays so fresh. At times it is very upbeat and is always worshipful. Bryan's music is something I always turn on for my friends to listen to. They have never been disappointed. I especially like "Caribean Dream". It is different and humorous!

This album is a treasure! Bryan is a phenomenal performer!, February 11, 1999

This review is from: Last Time I Was Here (Audio CD)
Bryan's latest title is simply the best! It contains the variety of "Mercy", yet the emotional depth of "Slow Revival"...from funky "Yes I will", to the sly detective-ish theme of "Sometimes in the dark", to the profound "The last time I was here" and "Strollin' on the water", to the lighthearted "Carribean Dream" It shows just how much of himself has been put into this album...and even today, he still retains his endearing trademark attitude and soulfulness. His voice is sweet and smooth like honey....His tunes are infectious...and the only cure is TO BUY THIS CD!!!Bryan is just as loveable as ever!

This album has made me a Brian Duncan fan, April 15, 1999

This album is nothing but up, up, up. "Strolling on the water" gives an awesome picture in my mind of Jesus holding us up. The title songs says to me that all we search for is found in Him, and its right there when we need it. I haven't been interested in too much of Brian's music before, but when I heard this one, it made me a fan.

This is another must have recordings of Bryan as only Bryan can do. Bryan, bless you and your family for the always in time spiritual blessings that you convay through your music..If you don't have all His stuff, your truly missing out...and I can guarantee if you listen to Bryan you will know that this is another one of his heartfelt, life-experiancing, albums. Love it, Love it,...... My favorite is: Strollin' on the Water, I can see and be there...with the wind in my hair, eyes only for you, Lord...... Keep it up Bryan, I'm still listening, and have been commited too for a long, long time.. Another Lunatic P.K.

funky, chewy with just the right amount of nougat..., January 7, 1999

This review is from: Last Time I Was Here (Audio CD)
What feast this album is...so much more than ear candy!! This is another signature project from Bryan! The lyrics to "Last Time" are rich and chewy and quite filling. And of course, easily washed down with the funky, smooth as "buttah" arrangements. But above all, it's that Voice that is like no other!! LTIWH is poppin' fresh and a must have for all Dunk lovers!

His best since Anonymous Confessions of a Lunatic Friend, December 16, 1998
This review is from: Last Time I Was Here (Audio CD)
This album is probably the best album of the year and worthy of a Dove Award. Technically proficient, musically diverse and surprising at every turn, this album takes you on an audio rollercoaster ride. If you are tired of cookie cutter formulaic christian music out of Nashville then you will enjoy this wonderful collection of songs from the one the best voices in music.
