A well gestured tribute to Farnham, February 17, 2005
This will be John Farnham's last recorded album, he has said it definitely is 'his last time'. I wish him all the best in his future and he will always be treasured by us Australians cause' he is one of ours.
I am not entirely happy with the quality of the songs and simply brought this album as a momento to an icon hanging up his mic. Track 2: No Ordinary World, Track 9: Even After All This Time, are beautiful songs and echoes Farnham's mixed feelings leaving the recording business.
For any true blue Farnham fan only.

Exceptional return to John Farnham's long respected style, June 11, 2003
This review is from: Last Time (Audio CD)
John is truly one of Australia's greatest musical talents. He is a showman in every sense of the word, with his concerts legendary amongst those who have been there. Alas he never became all that well known outside Australia, but that only endears him to his fans all the more.
"The Last Time" the remake by John is great - vibrant and catchy all the way. "No Ordinary World" is also wonderful. It is a smooth and yet upbeat ballad which you will find yourself humming a lot aftwards. "Lonely Man" has beautiful music and soft singing at the beginning, but works its way up to a stunning chorus and becomes bigger and bigger as the song goes on. "When I Can't Have You" is also brilliant, really good to sing along to . The chorus is one of those which you just can't help but want to join in. "Undeniably Real" is a quick and happy love song that again you will enjoy singing along to. "Keep Talking" is my personal favourite off this album. It is a suave soft beginning which simply melts off the CD. The lyrics swim into each other beautifully. Stunning song, one of his absolute best ever. You could sing this chorus over and over again. "Sometimes" is brilliant yet again, John's voice goes up and down unpredictably in the beginning. The melody reminds me of the old middle ages type of music at the start. This is a pleasant song which is just right for a campfire. "One More Try" is a great song which is a little bit gospel like in the chorus. It is very much a toe tapping song. "Even After All This Time" is beautiful, similar to "Sometimes". Again another smooth love song which just winds its way along wonderfully. Finally, "Eternally" is a great way to finish the album. It is accompanied by minimal instrumentation, just letting John caress the song with his voice. Most of this album, with the exception of "Last Time" is simpler than perhaps the highly stylised "Whispering Jack" of yesteryear, however John can do any style with incredible success. He may not be the best singer in the world, but he comes very very close in my opinion. This is a great album to finish up his touring career. I hope there will be many more albums before he retires completely.
My only gripe with this album is that the special limited edition CD Rom displays only photos of John making the album. There are no videos, no pieces of information, in short, nothing to make the limited edition any more appealing than the standard edition, except perhaps to a diehard collector. The album is exceptional, the CD Rom is uneventful. I still love him though!
