5.0 out of 5 stars Second Album even better
Holy Soldier's album "Last Train" is even stronger than their self titled debut album. The music is solid and strong from start to finish. Highlights include:

Crazy

Hollow's Eve

Dead End Drive

Fairweather Friend

Last Train

2.0 out of 5 stars A Music Review Is Always Subective
I had a significant CCM music collection from the early 1990s, and re-bought this item. Both times I bought it, I wanted the "Gimme Shelter" cover. The title track is also a good tune, but I found myself disliking the CD as a whole.

The band is hard rock, but, in my opinion, the music is over-produced and sounds far too soft and refined for the genre. The lead...

5.0 out of 5 stars best Christian metal album ever!, February 1, 2011
This review is from: Last Train (Audio CD)
I absolutely love this album. With apologies to Stryper's "Soldiers Under Command," I rank "Last Train" as the best Christian metal album. The album starts off with the energetic "Virtue and Vice" and ends with the somber "Last Train"--a song about the rapture and all who won't be attending. Their version of the Rolling Stone's "Gimme Shelter" is amazing. It's better than the original, in my opinion. "Hallow's Eve" is also a standout track.

It's a great cd sounds more like 90s hair metal than Christian metal. Hallow's Eve and (Rolling Stones cover) Gimme Shelter are my fav but I love the CD. Gimme Shelter I think is better then the Stones. Last Train is a great track as well. Holly Soldier is a great band. We need more of Holly Soldier and bands like this in Christian metal.

The two best tracks are Virtue and Vice and Last Train. They do a decent cover Gimmie Shelter.

The band is hard rock, but, in my opinion, the music is over-produced and sounds far too soft and refined for the genre. The lead vocalist has a voice that, to me, is better suited to singing soft rock. It was nice to hear another version of the Stones' old tune, but I don't think most people would be happy buying this CD for anything else.
