5.0 out of 5 stars A Local DC Treasure, January 12, 2003
This review is from: Last Train Home (Audio CD)
Eric Brace is the lead voice for a group of multi-talented songwriters, singers and multi-instrumentalists who know how to crank the party up just when it's getting a little too blue...If there's any justice left in Musicland, these guys will have a contract soon and will be able to buy out the local clubs they sell out on a regular basis just for fun. I've had one of their cds in my car for months and just don't see any reason to take it out! Paying homage to roots of traditional country, bluegrass, rock-n-roll and even a little bit of the blues, with both feet firmly on 2003 ground, Last Train Home offers up songs that stick in your brain and never leave (and that IS a good thing). Highlights are the opener, "List of Sorrows", live favorite "Sugar", "Long Time Gone" and the softly sad "Tonight", but every song on this cd is a winner. Multiple guitars, including a pedal steel, symbiotic rhythm from the duo of bassist Jim Gray and drummer Marty Lynds and the sweet icing of a well-utilized horn section round out this fabulous band.

5.0 out of 5 stars bluesy romantic music that makes you want to dance, November 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Train Home (Audio CD)
These bluesy, folksy tunes are both so sweet and so lyrical that you don't know whether to dance or to just sit still and take in the mood. Most of the songs are flat-out romantic (without being sentimental, coy, or sacharine)---the kind of songs that every girl fantasizes were written about her. These are tunes that fill your head and transport you to a sweeter realm---

5.0 out of 5 stars homegrown music at it's best, September 27, 2001

This review is from: Last Train Home (Audio CD)
An absolute jewel of music. More heart and feeling than anything that has been released in recent years. From beginning to end there is not one bad track to be found. Treat yoursef and your ears to a one in a million unpolished gem of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars See them live!, February 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Train Home (Audio CD)
They made me a fan of alt-country...and that was no easy task. If you enjoy this album at all, check them out live. It's worth it.
