Oldfashioned mystery,

This review is from: Last Walk Home (Hardcover)
I am very fond of the traditional police procedural village mystery. Quaint, serene, picturesque, green hamlets sometimes hide bloody crimes and crazy killers.
Of course, these kind of books are not very realistic. You have to suspend your disbelief to a point to fully enjoy them." Last Walk Home" is set in early 80's, but it could've been in the 60's or 40's, it would not make any difference. It was a pleasent trip to the times long gone. People don't write books like this anymore and with the reason. That picture perfect world full of pretty villages is long gone or it never existed at all. |
