5.0 out of 5 stars Poignant Drama Starring Two Masters of Their Craft, October 23, 2007
This review is from: Last Wish (DVD)
LAST WISH is not the typical disease-of-the-week TV-Movie. Oscar and Emmy-winners Patty Duke and Maureen Stapleton are at the top of their game in this fact-based story based on TV journalist Betty Rollin's experiences in helping her terminally ill mother end her life. This is not a movie that is either pro or anti-euthanasia, it's a story of a daughter's love for her mother.

This did not earn a single Emmy nomination despite excellent reviews. TV Guide gave it four stars and said it was the season's best TV-movie.

Duke loved working with Stapleton and even had an amusing story about when they'd go out to eat at restaurants together. Maureen would pocket everything in her purse. Not just the oranges, but even the orange peels! She said she was happy working with Stapleton and wanted to do so in her lifetime.

Picture is mostly crisp (a few specks that are hardly noticable) and the menu screen and selection are attractive. I would have preferred a photo of the two actresses on the cover, but I like it anyway and will settle for them on the back and on the disc itself. No extras.

Please, especially for this low price, order this movie and have yourself a good cry!
