The beginning of the end.....,
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
Finally after 14 years of being sixteen and about 4 Christmases/Thanksgivings; 6 summers and so on - the twins are finally hitting the big One-Seven (yes, that's right - they're turning SEVENTEEN). To mark their historical birthday (after all, who knows when they'll have another one) they decide to make this a 'special' one. Jessica schemes to throw a party for Liz and vice-versa. Realising the mix-up, their friends decide to turn the tables and throw a huge surprise party for the both of them. Meanwhile, Olivia decides to surprise her boyfriend Ken Matthews with a portrait of him. Unfortunately, the portrait paints a part of Ken that most pictures don't reach. Objecting to the portrait, Ken and Olivia break-up after he gives her an ultimatum: Their relationship or the portrait. Since all these surprises are being sprung, everyone disregards what will be the biggest surprise of all: The Earthquake. Experiencing minor tremors; they all put it down to being a part of living in Southern California and don't pay attention to the warnings as they continue to argue, celebrate, etc. Finally, when it seems like everything has worked out, tragedy strikes.......... An earth-shattering (excuse the pun) book that marks the end of an era...

One of the best SWEET VALLEY HIGH books!,
By Rebecca (Massachusetts, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved LAST WISH. It was such an incredible book that I couldn't put it down until I finished it (I had borrowed it from my town's library). In LAST WISH, Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield are turning 17 years old. Elizabeth wants to throw Jessica a birthday party that Jessica will never forget...and Jessica wants to do the same for Elizabeth, unknowingly that they both want to give each other birthday parties! Through all their secret birthday party planning, it all seems to go smoothly and perfectly until an earthquake shakes Sweet Valley and ruins it all! To find out what happens, you must read this book. An excellent addition to your SWEET VALLEY HIGH collection. Also, check out parts 2 EARTHQUAKE and 3 AFTERSHOCK, to find out the conclusion of this awesome SWEET VALLEY HIGH Super Special Saga.

William does it again!!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kate William does it again! She always manages to keep the readers intranced in a book. I think that Liz should have just got with Devon. Like Jessica, I think that those 2 were as boring at bread & butter. At the twins 17 birthday party an earthquake strikes. This book makes you want to run everywhere and find the next 2 books. It's keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's a MUST read.

This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was really cool! I love the idea of something bad happening in Sweet Valley. Although I haven't read the next two books, Earthquake and Aftershock, I read about Earthquake on the Sweet Valley web site and cried when I learned Olivia died! I can't wait to read Earthquake and Aftershock, I'm sure they'll be really good!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
Oh my god! i totally hate it when someone leaves u in suspence. This boook ws really good. I was so suprised that Enid, maia , and Olivia ditched Liz even if it was for a good cause. This book makes u want to laugh and cry just like the Charachters.iI never Knew that Jessica could plan a party for Liz.I feel bad that Liz is torn in2 between devon and Todd. The ending is really hapy and sad . I was soo happy when Olivia and Ken make up. I was also happy when liz an Todd get to be friends. I was sad when the earthquake strikes SV and when olivia , ken maria, Lila , todd,Prince albert were in the house when the earthquake struck. I wonder who will live ? better goget EARTHQUAKE and AFTERSHOK. This is the best thriller Pascl wrote Yet!

Their old Jeep Fell into The Water. An Earthquake hits while the party is going on.Some of the party-goers might not survive the party.

Hauntingly catastrophic!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book made me glad I don't live in Southern California! I can't imagine living through an earthquake! This book and "Earthquake" reminded me of the movie "Titanic," where a major wide-scale catastrophe is shown in scary and vivid detail. One part, though, that did catch my attention was the part where conceited, egotistical Bruce doesn't get into the colleges of his choice. That ought to bring him back to earth quickly. It was kind of amusing how he automatically thought he'd be a shoo-in for the Ivy League schools just because his family was rich and his dad had "connections." Him and Lila are two of a kind...they carry a grandiose sense of entitlement. Maybe their mansions should have been wrecked in the quake!

Finally!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Last Wish (Sweet Valley High) (Mass Market Paperback)
The twins finally end their junior year!! They have had twelve summers, ten Christmases, 20 boyfriends die, and they still were juniors! Now they will be seniors. I love Sweet Valley High, but they really shouldn't have stories about who might die, because we know Jessica and Elizabeth will live forever. The author started writing these books in 1983, and they are ending their junior year, so their senior year will probably last another 15 years. I will probably be married with children then, and I will probably still be reading these addictive books. E-mail me if you want to talk about Sweet Valley!
