This review is from: Camp 7 last stop; (Hardcover)
Hans Helmut Kirst has acquired a reputation for unsparing depictions of German life before, during and after WW II. I purchased this item and two others based on Amazon recommendations. Kirst's better works are allegedly the Revolt of Gunner Asch, but this book, unfortunately, struck me as shallow, unconvincing and, in the end, boring. The major problem was having just read Hans Fallada's "Every Man Dies Alone" and Jonathan Littel's "The Kindly Ones" (two books of extraordinary power), Last Stop Camp came across as a waste of time.
