5.0 out of 5 stars viva el gran garañon !, July 31, 2000

This review is from: Lastima Que Seas Ajena (Audio CD)
This is my favorite CD from the legend himself, Vicente Fernandez. Every song on this recording is wonderful, such as the romantic "Ni Con La Vida Te Pago", the beautiful huapango "Mis Manos" and a rendition of the familiar "Caminemos" that's terrific, but what makes this CD a must to have is the duet with his son, the magnificent Alejandro, in "Perdon". This is so moving that I can't hear it without getting goosebumps and my eyes filling with tears. Not only are these amazing voices a perfect blend (Alejandro has the deeper, velvety voice) but one can feel the profound love between this father and son as they sing this exquisite song. Don't miss the experience of hearing this !

5.0 out of 5 stars One of his best....., December 29, 2004
This review is from: Lastima Que Seas Ajena (Audio CD)
This album contains some of his best and popular songs. Lastima, the title song is beautiful and his voice is as powerful and beautiful as ever. My favorite song from this album is Nuestro Juramento, a very emotional and beautiful song. Also a treat is Perdon, which he sang live with Alejandro, you can see the differences in their voices but equally beautiful. You can see that Alejandro had developed into a true artist, not just another copy of his father. This is a great CD, really worth having, for any Vicente Fernandez fan or those who love Mexican music.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lush and beautiful modern classic Mexican album, May 13, 1998

This review is from: Lastima Que Seas Ajena (Audio CD)
Although the beautiful title track was deservedly a big hit, there are many other gems to be found on this excellent album. Vicente's updating and dramatic delivery of "Nuestro Juramento," for example, is indespensible. Also of note is the duet with his famous son, Alejandro, on the old Trio/Serenada classic "Perdon," a powerful live performance. "Pica que Pica" is an irresistably cute urban *Huapango.* The first-rate production afforded this album helps make it an always-pleasant and endurable listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance Epitomized!, October 2, 1998

I believe when God took Javier Solis from the Latin-American community, he gave us Vicente Fernandez. The similarities in their voices sends chills up and down my spine. This particular CD is absolutely beautiful... the mariachi is second to none.
