Product Description

Real organic white cheddar cheese between organic buttery tasting rich crackers. USDA Organic. Produced without synthetic pesticides. No trans fats or corn syrup. No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. While carefree mid-summer days inspired our name, the love of family inspired our ideas. On any given day you can find three generations at work including my father, and cofounder, mother, husband, aunt and three year old son, the boy on the front and the biggest fan of our new organic mini sandwich crackers. As a mother, I'm constantly in the position where I need to give my son a snack on the go, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the quality of the ingredients for convenience. These mini sandwich crackers were developed with him in mind. Our family hopes you enjoy them. The organic ingredients in our Cheddar Cheese Sandwich Crackers are produced without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, genetic engineering, antibiotics or added growth hormones. They also contain real organic cheddar cheese, no trans fat, no hydrogenated oils, no corn syrup, no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, no preservatives, and are lacto (dairy) vegetarian. Why choose our organic snack? Because while it's popular now to make products with all natural ingredients, in the 25 years our family has been making snack foods, we've always used them and always will. And with our new company, Late July Organic Snacks, we've taken that dedication to a higher level by using organic ingredients. We are independently owned, family operated and all our products are certified USDA Organic. certified organic by Quality Assurance International.

An excellent healthy choice for snacking! Each box has 8 packages; each package is about 130 calories. They are slightly larger than most of the 100 calorie packs available now, and I find them equally filling. The portion size is more than adequate for a snack.

They actually taste better than Ritz Bits, which I still like, but now I prefer these. The price here is similar to what I pay at a local grocery store, but sometimes they are limited in quantity at the store. Compared to some of the natural markets (Wild Oats, Whole Foods, etc) the pricing here is about half the cost.

Well worth the purchase if you like a good cheese & cracker snack in a "metered" portion.

I hate to write this review, because this cracker was initially our family's favorite and we repurchased it many times since and shared with our friends who have kids, but Late July is a company with ZERO product consistency. the first time we tried this cracker, it was light and buttery and full of rich, creamy cheddar, and several bulk purchases since have resulted in nothing but thin, dry fillings and an overload of salt. the cracker itself has also on occasion had more of a compact snap to it than that original, light flakiness. I have had the same experience with other Late July products (ie, their Dude Ranch chips--another ruined favorite), and have often pictured different people in the kitchen working from the same recipe with different results. I am not sure what their set up is, but (though I do appreciate their efforts at creating healthy snacks) it is apparent that they need to focus on product consistency (ie, the same measurement of ingredients each time!). I will not say I hate this product, but it will be a completely different thing each time you order it. If you want to avoid foods high in sodium, for one, do not risk a batch. Late July goes nuts with the salt very often in this product.

Bought this item for my 22 month old and my 6 year old to snack on. Neither of the them would touch it after taking the first bite. I tried it to see what the issue was and it was very salty. We are not conservative sodium consumers, so that is not the issue. It's the 350 mg of sodium per serving that is the problem. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I have nearly 4 boxes left of this sitting in my pantry with no one in my family wanting to eat it. I really wanted to like this product because it made it easy to shop for snacks my kids would like online and have it shipped.

When I first tasted these they were way too salty. But I ate them anyway, a few at a time. I'm stubborn like that. When I opened the second box, they tasted fine. Really good, in fact. Obviously the first box was defective. I wish I'd saved the numbers so I could report it.
Any time something doesn't taste right you should ask for your money back. Manufacturing accidents happen. How can they fix it if they don't know it's broke?
The only reason I'm aware of this is because I'm allergic to corn. And twice lately I've had allergic reactions to foods I eat all the time. Someone at the factory put something in there that did not belong. It happens to the best of products. Believe me, I know. So don't just assume that you don't like the product when everyone else thinks it's great. Return it. Make your voice known.

I've had Late July tortilla chips before and thought they were great, so when I got these in a subscription box, of course I ripped into the package almost immediately.

These are pretty salty (and high in sodium with over 300 mg in a 1.125 ounce package), but that just makes them more delicious to me. Still, if you are monitoring salt intake, you may want to avoid them. The crackers have a similar texture to regular Ritz, to me, and the cheese flavor is a nice complement. There were very few broken crackers in my bag, too.

If you have dietary restrictions, these are non-GMO, organic, free of artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives, and kosher (dairy). They're vegetarian but obviously not vegan. They contain wheat and dairy and are made in a plant that processes soy, eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts, so be conscious of that if you have any of those allergies.

Nutritionally, these are not necessarily the best for you -- they're very low in fiber and protein and rather high in starches. The package I have lists different nutritional information than the product images, although it is reasonably close.

So these are basically Ritz Bits, but with three differences:

1. The crackers are better; they taste more buttery and flavorful.

2. The cheese is better; it actually tastes like something that's met cheese in passing, and maybe even shaken its hand.

3. They're all organic 'n' stuff, so make you feel ever so slightly virtuous, and less like a slave to Big Food.

If you're packing lunches for kids (or snacks for yourself), these are great.

Our whole family loves these crackers. I am not under some sort of illusion that they are super healthy or anything but I do feel better about the fact that they are organic and don't contain a bunch of ingredients that I've never heard of. These are easy to pack in the diaper bag. I always try to keep some on hand because you never know when they will come in handy.
