From Library Journal
This wonderful exhibition catalog examines the works produced by Picasso during the last 20 years of his life. Most striking in their tremendous strength, vitality, and enthusiastic eroticism (many of the images are quite explicit), these works show no signs of artistic deterioration as Picasso continues to explore his themes with unceasing invention and in an uninhibited painting style born of conscious spontaneity. The subjects of these efforts--the artist and his model, the studio, the several series based on old master paintings, and, of course, the nude--are here explored in perceptive essays along with Picasso's stylistic development and his prodigious print output. This book belongs in all art collections.
