Cat-Opoly,

This game is awesome! I learned a lot about money, cat breeds, real estate, and life when I played. It is also a lot of fun. But, like Monopoly, it can get boring. The "money" tears easily and the plastic banker trays are large and in the way. I've also noticed that the Cat-Opoly game doesn't come with as much "money" as the Parker Brothers Monopoly. But I still give it two thumbs up. Even my mom will play with me!

This is Monopoly with a cat theme instead of a real estate theme. The game play is identical, but instead of houses and hotels, you get litter boxes and fish bones. Instead of Community Chest and Chance, you get Purrfect and Cat-astrophe. Free Parking becomes Catnip, and Jail becomes Water. You get the idea. The only real difference is the feline trivia on the backs of the "real estate" cards (actually cat breed cards). Game pieces are cute. Instead of little metal hats, cannons, etc., you get fish cans, sardines, a mouse, a ball of yarn, and an old-fashioned milk bottle. If you like Monopoly and you like cats, you'll really appreciate this game. However, if you, like me, secretly call the original Parker Brothers game Monotony, then this will not fill any attention span deficits.

One particularly boring night after just moving and no TV, I pulled out this game (received as a birthday gift 'cause I'm a fan of cats) and introduced the world of monopoly via catopoly to my husband, his brother and wife. We had a ball! The fact that it's centered on cats had no bearing at all on how much fun it was. I doubt they even read the cat facts on the back...they're too interested in winning.
I found this version of the game to be more interesting than remembered games as a kid...could have been the company, but it could have also been the lightheartedness of the theme...there wasn't too much stress on becoming a real estate tycoon. The quality of and thought that went into the cards, boards, and pieces (as mentioned in another review) are also appreciated.

This is a really fun version of an old classic -- for all ages and even those who don't love cats, but especially for cat lovers.

I got this game because I am a cat lover. I think it is easier to play that the original. When my 10 year old nephew was over, we played it three times...by his request! After the first round, I pulled out the original but he didn't like it as much. It seems that you get more money in the begining and the real estate (cats, in this case) are priced lower. You can actually get through the game, where the original one can sometimes take days! My nephew had never played either version and I am geting him this for Christmas this year because I know he loves it. I had him hand out the cat cards as the were bought and then in the next game be the banker. I think it helps with math and boosted his self-confidence. It's a great way to introduce the younger ones to an advanced board game like Monopoly.

Really cute variation on Monopoly with different cat breeds. Basic, but lots of fun if you are a cat lover.

I got this game for a christmas present for my husband. We have several monopoly games and we just needed a change from the hotel motel thing. This shows you different breeds of cats on the board, and interesting facts about them. Its fun to play this game even though you are playing with fishbones and cat nip.... Hours of fun. We enjoy this on Saturday nights when Netflix is not in our living rooms. Enjoy!!!!:)

As avid cat lovers my significant other and I absolutely LOVE this game. It also intrigues our 17 cats. They know it's all about them. If you are not a true cat fan I would not recommend this. This is more for cat lovers than it is for someone who just "likes" cats.

At our regular weekly game night, I brought out my new Catopoly.. there was lots of curiosity.. and once we started playing, we never stopped laughing.. it is sooo much fun.. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the concept of Monopoly, but, is looking for something a little newer and more fun.. we played the shortened version and it was just right..
