This is a great game for families and kids. It has beautiful pictures of the earth's climatic regions and is completely eco-friendly. It will increase your families knowledge about nature, while providing information to seed their interest about carbon tax, wind power, and pristine environments. This game features words and concepts that are now becoming common in the environmental news and that will provide your children with a greater understanding for what is happening with the natural world.

This is a great idea for an educational game that is enjoyable enough that your kids won't realize they are learning something!

I am an environmental educator, and my kids are my guinea pigs for new work projects. Earthopoly was a hit with my 4 kids aged 6, 8, 11, and 13. Played with the same rules as Monopoly but with an environmental twist. Playing the game brought up more discussion on various environmental topics. I would definitely recommend this for educators to provide as a loaner game to classrooms or even as a giveaway, as well as families wanting to teach their children about environmental issues.

Earthopoly is a game that emulates the classic Monopoly game we have been playing for half a century. You might be thinking you play it the same way, and you'd be on the right track. However, in case you're wondering, this isn't made by the same company that produces the original Monopoly game.

Earthopoly was designed and developed by a small producer of specialty board games called Late for the Sky, which is based in Ohio. Founded in the early 80's, their first games were targeted towards college students, which were welcomed with huge success. Today they make board games that march to the beat of a different drum, with each having themes based on pop culture, social trends, animals, cities, eras (80's, 90's, etc.), music, movies, even food and beverages!

I was pretty impressed with this game, and even more impressed when I learned the amount of effort and attention to detail that went into it. Obviously, this game has an "earth" theme, and more specifically, the environment, ecosystems, habitats, natural processes, weather, geology, and elements. It also embraces the "green" movement, and you can see this in detail when you open the box for the first time.

I think this may be one of the most environmentally friendly board games out there. If you need any proof just look at the materials that it's made of and packaged in. The inks used for printing are vegetable oil-based and biodegradeable. The game box and board are made from 100 percent recycled paper. The paper covering the box and gameboard are 10 percent recycled pulp. The paper backing of the board is made from pulp bought from paper mills that use responsible land and forest management processes which use green energy (from hydroelectric, wind, solar, etc.).

I was hoping for a game that removed the cut-throat, one player makes it big & all others go broke aspect of Monopoly. It seemed to me Earth-opoly would require cooperation among players to achieve goals--that there would be some well-conceived change in the rules, not just a change in the pictures o the board. That somehow the earth would win. This game commodifies the environment. If we play it again, it will be to figure out ways to change the game to make it more tolerable.

My daughter played this at a friend's house and begged me to get it. I wasn't sure how this game would be -- and I really like it a lot. We've played for hours - enjoying what we've learned and having fun in competing. Would definitely recommend to other families.

I love that every aspect of this game is eco-friendly, from the biodegradable plastic its wrapped in, to the eco trivia on the back of each property card.
