A Fantastic Compilation,
This review is from: LateNightTales (Audio CD)
This is one of the best compilations to come out of the Late Night Series. What a fellow reviewer failed to realize prior to purchasing this cd was that the Late Night Tales/Another Late Night series are compilation albums of work done by other artists, with an occasional track or two from the featured artist compiling the album, nothing more, nothing less. They are not original work, but a series of songs put together by the artist that he/she finds influencial, or simply finds groovy. However, that is by no means a bad thing. These Late Night Tales albums are some of the best "mixed tapes" I have ever had the pleasure to listen.
That being said, Fatboy Slim put together a great album here. The vibe of this album: smooth, cool, upbeat, groovy, silly, and mellow. With a mix of rock, reggae, classical, calypso, international, 60s pop, and unique gems (Robert Mitchum singing!), I really think you'll enjoy this album. The only track I find a strange choice is Bootsy Colllins' "Everything is Everything". But that's the only track of 21 that I didn't like. Listen to the samples, and I'm sure you'll agree this album is most enjoyable. Other personal favorites of the Late Night Tales/ Another Late Nite collections are compilations from Air, Belle & Sebastian, The Flaming Lips, and Nouvelle Vague. I have discovered many new artists thanks to Late Night Tales/ Another Late Night.

Killer comp from a killer comp series,
By
This review is from: LateNightTales (Audio CD)
Reviews of the LateNightTales or Another Late Night series seem to miss the point - this is a compilation of music from each Artist's personal collection, sometimes re-worked in their own special way but more often than not, left simply alone. It's more of a series of homage, than a series of original works (of which there are very, very few). The point of the series is to experience what artists like, and how they like it - Late. LNT from Fatboy Slim is another great addition to a great series of compilations - think of it as one of the greatest mix-tapes you'll ever get, from great musical acts.

A Whole Album The Family Can Enjoy,

This review is from: LateNightTales (Audio CD)
I am a real fan of Fatboy Slim and when I seen this album cover with the seagull on it I just had to get it. This Late Night Tales CD Rocked! Me and my mom listened to it on the way to the beach. We really enjoyed it. On the way to the beach and from it. It actually sounded even better on the way back going down those roads. Its a great album to listen to on the road.
Its an album that has songs both me, my mom and dad can enjoy. I really enjoyed every song on the album. The Radio Activity is way cool! My mom really liked Who Loves The Sun. Its such a hippie song! My moms favorite must be Satisfied and Tickled Too. We thought Linus and Lucy was funny, but cool. Bootsy Collins Everything Is Everything had me laughing. I liked that. I thought that was rad how he had a little comical poem on there. This mix album is a real delight and if you dig oldies and rarities you got to check this out! If you want to hear something different buy this. If you want to hear what influenced Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) check this out! Its totally cool!
