2.0 out of 5 stars See You Later Gladiator
I gave my book a 2 out of 5 because the ending was too easy and the book was confusing. Then when they had time to go find the book they were looking for they were doing a burping contest.
The book is about these three kids and they're around a gladiator that wants to kill them and try to talk him out of it but it doesn't work. I would recommend this book to people...

I picked it up and quickly skimmed the cover. It seemed interesting so I recommended it to William. I recieved a letter from his mother two days later which said she was so happy to see him READING and not wanting to put this book down. Several times she had to check on him because he was either so quiet or laughing OUT LOUD! I could not give a better recommendation than that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy summer read, July 5, 2001
My son recently wrote the following:

The Time Warp Trio books contain amazing pictures by Lane Smith and humorous stories by Jon Scieszka (of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales fame). Time Warp Trio books are entertaining and easy to read and were probably written to encourage kids who don't usually read much to read more.

In See You Later Gladiator, the three friends find themselves in Ancient Rome, face-to-face with a gladiator about to make short work of them. They pass themselves off as powerful magicians. Their only hope for survival is to find The Book and skedaddle before they encounter any more sword-wielding gladiators.

Enjoy this "quick" summer read!

I gave the book 5 stars. I think the book is good. I think I like it when they fight the gladiator. I also like when they go in the colusseum by the king. It is about when three boys get time traveled to the gladiator time. The gladiators go after the three boys because they want to capture them and kill them. I recommend this book to everyone who likes silly books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gladiators beware!, March 8, 2001
This story is about three boys named Joe, Sam, and Fred. These three boys have a very strange book that, when they say special words, it will transport them to a different time. In order to get back home, they have to find the book which is hidden in Rome, and that is where they are too! When they arrive, they are in a Gladiator stadium! To find out more, read See You Later Gladiator.

4.0 out of 5 stars Goodbye, Gladiator, May 23, 2011
A Kid's Review
"See You Later Gladiator" is written by Jon Scieszka. The book was published in 2000, and it is a part of The Time Warp Trio series. This book can be purchased for about six dollars either at a bookstore like Borders, or an online bookstore like Amazon. However, this book can also be found at the library for free! It has 85 pages, and it includes some Latin translations near the back of the book.

The book is set in Rome and takes the reader from gladiator school to the dreary colosseum. The main characters are Joe, Sam, and Fred. Joe is the narrator. Sam is the smart one because he thinks of ideas. And Fred is the strong one because he beats them all in wrestling. Together, these three best friends are forced into Rome.

When they get zapped into Rome by a blue book, they have to find it so they can get back home. First, before they find the book, they have to fight versus a gladiator. Will they live, die, or win freedom? Will they find the book? Or will they be stuck in Rome forever? When they do all of this, they find out team work and friendship are the best, because if they did not team up they would have died.

I like that the book was a little funny, for example, when Fred burped. I do not like that they were trying to be funny when it was not, for example, when Sam was talking sarcastically. I give it four stars out of five because it was not super funny. I recommend it for little kids aged seven to ten. I think boys might like it more than girls because it includes fighting and gladiators. However, the book is for Roman-history lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great beginning chapter book series., August 26, 2010
I am a teacher for both the fourth and fifth grade. Many of my fourth grade students are just getting into chapter books. I have found this to be a great beginner chapter book for those students. The series is similar to the Magic Treehouse books, but the main characters are boys. After my students read these, they often move on to the Goosebumps series.

5.0 out of 5 stars See You Later, Gladiator is AWESOME!!!, August 22, 2010
A Kid's Review
"See You Later, Gladiator is awesome"! The Time Warp Trio was transported into Rome by Joe's magic book. "And before any of us even had a chance to say "Oh no," or "Here we go again," the mist had covered us up to the top of Fred's World Wrestling hat, and body slammed us back in time to ancient Ome-ray." "The book is adventurous. The Trio face many challenges in the story. They had to face Horridus in the colosseum. "That's where we were - standing in the bloody sand of the Colosseum, blinking in the rays of the late afternoon sun, listening to fifty thousand people howling at us." I would recommend this book to a friend because it is exciting when the Time Warp Trio helps people out and fight evil gladiators.

I gave the book 2 stars because I did not like it because it was weird. There was a burping scene and that is why is was weird. It is about 3 boys who are looking for a book to get back home. But first they had to get out of the net that the gladiator threw at them. I would recommend this book to people who like fighting and burping.
