5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for Crusader enthusiasts, February 5, 2007
This review is from: The Latin Church in Cyprus, 1195-1312 (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book about the Latin presence in Cyprus, up to 1312 of course. The book guides you through the various ordinary clergy holdings and deeds over the roughly two centuries covered, and also focuses a detailed chapter on the Crusader Military Orders. For anyone interested in the architecture of the latin churches built, that too very well done. I know this book is out of print and expensive on Amazon, and pretty much anywhere else, but for those looking seriously into history of the medieval church, this book can be found in greek bookstores on Cyprus itself. If you are a person excited by the material, then this book should make you quite happy; looking for something shocking or revelatory, then go buy a shoddy book about the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail.
