it's like a wood block, bu it sounds a lot better and it seems almost indestructible. you can choose from low or high pitch. I have the high pitch and I like it, but I imagine the low one is good, too.

A+++. This block sounds great and will last a lifetime. I have 4 different pitches and love them all. Loud too!
