Great Shaker,

I recently brought this, as my shaker egg just wasn't getting the job done on some tracks I was recording. Great shaker right here. Good quality, feels solid...like I could drop it and nothing bad would happen. Good, rich shaker sound that cuts through the mix just like it should! I would definitely buy instruments from Latin Percussion again! Try it out if you're in need of a great shaker at an affordable price.

Always a winner. LP has never disappointed. Their gear is sturdy, dependable and sounds great. This is a classic. You can't go wrong. The reason why you seldom see the price of these items marked down is because they're worth what you pay and have become a kind of industry gold standard. Buy fearlessly.

Nice shaker, but don't hit it too hard,

This is your standard go-to shaker for anyone who wants to have a nice clear sound, particularly in a contemporary setting. I've used it several times, and I like it very much. However, keep in mind that the black ends are not permanently attached and can come off if you hit the shaker too hard. Under normal use, though, this should never happen, so don't let this keep you from buying the product. A couple of weeks ago, I was grasping one end of the shaker in one hand while beating hard rhythms against my other hand. I was beating the rhythms at the mid-section of the shaker. After a while, the hard beating popped off the black cap. After collecting almost all the beads off the floor, I was able to attach the cap back on with no problem, and the shaker still works fine.
This is a great shaker, don't get me wrong. Just be careful not beat it too hard. I took off a star for the review because the problem could be avoided if the cap ends were permanently attached. But normal use doesn't even involve beating the shaker, anyway, so there's really not that much to worry about.
